What do you get when mix a home redecorating show with a zombie invasion and this mixture is brought to you by the creator of SUBURBAN SASQUATCH? Well, it’s something that should of been cooler than this flick which is called ZOMBIE BY DESIGN. Maybe, Moronic Mark’s expectations were just a tad too high in regards with Wascavage’s previous flick (I mean it did cause him to buy a gorilla suit and create another reoccurring character) that ZOMBIES BY DESIGN could in no way compete with. Maybe, he was mad that there was no Ty Pennington type character who gets eaten by the undead.

Anyway, here’s his look at it.

The original 1984 film featured Linda Hamilton (aka Sarah Connor) who played Vicky Baxter the girlfriend of Burt Stanton (Peter Horton). Hamilton appeared naked in The Terminator, King Kong Lives and Black Moon Rising .

Children of the Corn Synopsis

Narrator Job (Robby Kiger) relates the tale of Gatlin, NE, where one day the children, led by a boy preacher named Isaac (John Franklin), rose up and slaughtered all the grown-ups. A few years later, Job and his sister, Sarah (Ammemarie McEvoy), help their friend, Joseph (Jonas Marlowe), try to escape through the cornfields of Gatlin. Meanwhile, Burt Stanton (Peter Horton), a commitment-phobic young doctor, and Vicky Baxter (Linda Hamilton), his frustrated girlfriend, travel through the cornfield-lined roads of Nebraska on their way to Burt’s new internship in Omaha.

Cut and Paste Synopsis

A bold new chapter in the Predator universe, Predators was shot on location under Rodriguez’s creative auspices at the filmmaker’s Austin-based Troublemaker Studios, and is directed by Nimród Antal. The film stars Adrien Brody as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who come to realize they’ve been brought together on an alien planet… as prey. With the exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold-blooded killers – mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members – human “predators” that are now being systemically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien Predators.

In addition to Adrien Brody, the film stars Topher Grace, Alice Braga, and Laurence Fishburne. Co-starring are Walton Goggins, Danny Trejo, Oleg Taktarov and Mahershalalhashbaz Ali.

Rob Cohen (The Fast and the Furious) plans on remaking the Fred Dekker classic with Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form as producers. Dunes is the studio behind the Friday the 13th and upcoming Elm Street remakes.

The Stendhal Syndrome

A young detective in Rome’s anti-rape unit. Anna Manni (Asia Argento) suffers from Stendhal Syndrome, a mental condition that causes her to retreat into horrifying hallucinations when confronted with works of art.

On the trail of a serial rapist and killer, she is given the suspect’s whereabouts by way of a tip-off. But, unknown to Anna, the killer has discovered the secret of her illness and uses it against her, eventually kidnapping her and forcing her to become an unwilling witness to his crimes. Of course, this being a Dario Argento film, nothing is quite as it seems and the plot takes a terrifying twist when Anna discovers the true face of madness.

An atmospheric and chilling study of the effects of insanity and violence, The Stendhal Syndrome is full of the dazzling cinematic style and technical wizardry audiences have come to expect from Argento. The Card Player

A serial killer is on the loose in Rome, kidnapping women and using them as the stake in a series of deadly games of poker played with the police over the internet. If the police win, the victim is set free; if they lose, the victim dies and the police are rewarded with a gruesome video of the murder being committed. When a British tourist becomes involved, disgraced Irish cop John Brennan (Liam Cunningham) is sent to Rome to investigate. There, he teams up with Anna Mari (Stefania Rocca), the no-nonsense Italian detective heading up the investigation. Once they set about tracking down the killer, they are forced to play the game themselves, but the stakes are raised even higher when a police chief’s daughter (Fiore Argento) is abducted and it becomes apparent the ‘Card Player’ knows more about Anna than she would like.

Full of all the trademark elements that have earned Argento such a huge and loyal fanbase among horror aficionados, The Card Player is an innovative, modern day thriller highlighted by a dazzling set-piece set around a breathtaking ‘cat and mouse’ chase between Anna and the film’s eponymous killer.

Terror At The Opera

Spanish actress Cristina Marsillach stars as Betty, a young and inexperienced opera singer who gets at a chance at her big break starring in a production of Verdi’s ‘Macbeth’ when the lead is forced to pull out following a road accident. Despite her belief that the production is cursed, Betty accepts the role and receives universal acclaim for her performance.

Unfortunately, her star turn also attracts the attention of a mysterious psychopathic ‘fan’ who repeatedly kidnaps her, ties her up and, by taping needles to her eyelids so she is unable to blink, forces her to witness him violently murdering her friends, colleagues and acquaintances. But who is the masked killer and why is he targeting her?

They’re teaming up with ADF for a new series called “After Dark Originals” (AOD), 8 new and original films from the filmmakers involved with the Horrorfests of the past four years. Seven of the eight films have been filmed and are in post-production. They include Husk, Fertile Ground, Scream Of The Banshee, Prowl, The Task, Re-Kill, Seconds Apart and 51.

Silverstone and Ritter are playing two younger vampires partying it up in New York City. The poop hits the fan when one of them falls in love. Weaver will play Ciccerus, the vampire who turned the two into vamps… Basically another vampire flick trying to cash-in on Twilight craze, and something our Editor will love!

The plot kind of reminds me of Sonny Fernandez’s The New Girls.

YAY! Dark Night of the Scarecrow is finally coming to DVD! Writer J.D. Feigelson told HYB that VCI Entertainment will be releasing the DVD sometime around Halloween.

Scarecrow stars Charles Durning as Otis P. Hazelrigg who wrongly accuses and executes Bubba Ritter (Larry Drake aka Dr. Giggles), a mentally-challenged man, for raping a young girl. When Hazelrigg and his group of vigilantes escape murder charges, they start to dying one-by-one while being stalked by a mysterious scarecrow… Hazelrigg must figure out who is behind the scarecrow’s revenge before he is the next victim.

True Blood season 3 will premiere on June 13.

Porn star Sasha Grey returns to the horror genre with Richard O’Sullivan’s Hallows. Grey told HorrorSquad.com, “Hallows basically takes the standard kids-in-the-woods-running-from-a-killer genre and flips it on its ear. The deaths aren’t random. They’re not cookie cutter. Each character dies in a fashion relating to the way they live their life. I’m less interested in gore-for-the-sake-of-gore (although there is gore in this film and plenty of it) than the psychology behind the characters and how they react to what happens.”

Shocktillyoudrop.com has learned that Clive Barker is creating a new cenobite for Stefan Hutchinson’s 90-minute Hellraiser documentary.

“Today, we’re happy to announce that Clive Barker is involved in the project and creating a new Cenobite for the documentary. Being Barker’s first Cenobite in over a two decades to make it on film, this retrospective will include the complete transformation of a Cenobite from conception to form.”
