R.I.P. Fabulous Moolah!

The Fabulous Moolah passed away in South Carolina last night. Born Lillian Ellison, Moolah was the most famous female wrestler. She was the WWE's first female champion and held the record for the longest title reign by any athlete in any professional sport. She was 84.
 
She continued to perform with WWE as recent as June of 2007.

THey have been playing the film, Lipstick & Dynamite, Piss & Vinegar: The First Ladies of Wrestling, on Showtime lately.  It is an interesting look at what the early women of wrestling did.  I am glad I saw the film and will miss the fabulous one.  I wonder what happened to Wendy Ricter.
