Watched it last night...yet another pointless remake.
Characters = absolutely nothing, didn't give 2 shits about 'em.
The pacing was fast...yet absolutely boring, if that is possible.
Didn't hate it, but it was pointless and very forgettable.

Romero's The Crazies is a great film.

Agreed 100% - and I rarely agree with Larry about modern horror flicks.

Yes you do...just not on Rob Zombie's stuff.
Just one off the top of my head...didn't you dig House of the Devil?  That has become one of my favs!

I was hoping The Crazies remake would be good and it turns out I was bored as hell...funny thing is is that I was determined to HATE the Dawn of the Dead remake, but I actually fully enjoy that movie (not nearly as much as the OG of corpse!)

We agree on House Of The Devil - that one was awesome!

On the other hand, I thought the Dawn Of The Dead remake sucked...but I liked the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake?!?  Tongue

What didn't you like about the Dawn remake?  I thought it was action packed and very entertaining.  I really was 110% against it before I saw it.   Just like when Melissa made me watch the Stepfather remake...I couldn't believe that it was actually pretty good.  Terry O'Quinn is most definitely way creepier then Mr. Nip/Tuck guy though, but he did alright.

The opening scene where the chick breaks out of the bathroom, jumps in her car, and all hell breaks loose was fucking awesome, but the rest of the movie was pretty weak IMO. I hated the running zombies...the music...and the fact that most of it takes place in the mall. I can't really explain it, it just didn't work for me for some reason.

Remakes are really hit & miss for me. But my standards are pretty low. I liked the TCM & F13 remakes and those are both widely regarded as shit. On the other hand, I thought the Dawn Of The Dead and Hills Have Eyes remakes were lame - and those are the two that horror fans seem to cum over the most.  Huh

The Hills Have Eyes remake was cool, but the Wrong Turn movies pee on it.  I FUCKIN' LOVE WRONG TURN 2, and the others too, just not as much.
