Some quick background on me.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTD3OPoCzKo

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDI6_WfZilo

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lJcmoozw9o

If you're here you must be interested about this shit...so I'll fill you in.

Lots of words here...go grab some poptarts...

I've been writing stories my whole life. When I was a kid I'd draw in my Doctor Suess books and make my own stories to go along with them. Horror was always my favorite. I grew up watching Myers, Jason, Chucky...I loved The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (far as I'm concerned the best horror movie ever) I adored The Evil Dead movies, The Night of The Living Dead. I'm a horror movie fan through and through, to the bone. I know my shit.

I wrote and drew comic books (which are actually just storyboards) most of my life. Movie making was always something that I wanted to do, but I grew up poor as shit, and figured there was no way in hell I'd ever afford it...writing was cheaper, all you needed was a pen and a peice of paper, you didn't have to worry about money.

I've been published in Flesh and Blood magazine, Blood and Bones, a bunch of other zines, most of which have gone under, but breaking into the industry is hard as hell...I wrote for Diabolical-Dominon, reviewing movies and doing interviews, they were one of the earlier internet horror movie sites, I also wrote for 1313 magazine for a little while.

Once computer editing software came around, and digital cameras...and this was only 7-8 years ago, the idea of making a movie became a real possibility. So I got a bunch of friends, dusted off an old story I wrote in High School called Wasteland Warrior...and made Down Twisted, a post apocalyptic film that might get released one day.

I realized from that film, that not only was this feasible...it was downright insane NOT to do it.

*******************

What you won't see in my movies is the usual shit.

I haven't made a zombie movie. I haven't made a slasher movie. I haven't made soft core porn. I don't have any gimmicks. I know how to tell a story. That's what I have above other low-budget movie makers. I'm not out making goofy satire or low-brow comedies. There's nothing wrong with any of that, but if you go into my movies wanting one of those you're at the wrong place.

I'm not imitating. I'm not out to pay HOMAGE to any fucking thing. Imitation is suicide. I keep things as original as possible.

That's not to say I'm out making intellectual movies...FAR from it...it's there if you want it, but first and foremost I'm trying to entertain and make something a little interesting. When it's time to watch one of my movies...turn off your fucking cell-phone, get off Facebook for a little while...turn out the lights...and WATCH. I want people to throw their A.D.D out the window and focus for a little while.

Sometimes I do demand something out of the people that watch my movies. I apologize, but stick with the movie and I promise by the end...it'll be worth it.

And if you can't make it...fuck it...go watch Lepracaun in the Hood.

*******************

The people in my movies are friends. I've made a lot of them (friends and movie). They're in my movies not for the money...but because I keep in fun...and it gives them a break from their monotonous lives. But it's hard work and although their acting may not be the best, you'll never hear me bad talk them. They ROCK... ALL OF THEM. Nothing but love and respect from me. I can't put up pics of all of them (the latest movie The Last Battleground involves more than 8 main characters and we've had up to 30 extras...) but here's some-

*********************

I don't make LOW-BUDGET horror movies. Budget implies that I have some kind of money set aside to make a movie.

I don't.

These are no-budget movies. People have to know that right away. I do everything myself. I write them, I make the effects myself, there's NO CG bullshit around here...I hate CG...all practical.

Now my effects are usually the biggest issue with folks who watch my movies. I would LOVE to get Greg Nicotoro to do my effects...trust me...but well..you know...that cost millions of dollars. I don't use latex, I don't have money for that...I just have my ingenuity. That's it.

You either know what you're getting into with this and you're going to appreciate it...or you can't deal. If you can't deal I apologize...get back to me in a few years..maybe my effects can match my stories then.

I'm not making the best horror movies ever made. These are personal things. I make them to stay sane. I exorcise my demons through them. Sometimes it may not seem like it. These are always first and foremost fun and they NEVER take themselves seriously. But they are my life. This is what I do. They take up all my time. Day in and day out.

Not everyone is going to like my movies and that's fine. If I make one you don't like, maybe you'll like the next one, but I'm not going to please everyone...but those that do like them...awesome...come on and walk beside me...take this crooked ass road with me...

we'll be going lots of interesting places...

Any questions...any suggestions...anything...I'm usually around somewhere.

I'm not techinally adapt. I'm just not.

People think because I can edit the shit out of movies it must mean I'm an expert at the techinal side of shit, but I'm not. I do learn fast though especially when it comes to this, problem is, I don't have anyone around here that does what I do, so if I need help, I'm shit out of luck, I have to teach myself everything, it's a struggle.

I'm much better at physical things, I like bloodbags to explode on people, not add it in a fucking computer, but with things going the way they are, I've been learning tricks, for instance, this red eye gag (previously seen in the vampire movie thread)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6bkIGJfyzY

If we used contacts for the red eyes...well...people will say, "They're just contacts" but this definitely gives it a more otherworldy werid look. I've been messing around with other stuff-

Head shot-

Haha, muzzle flash, which looks pretty goofy in a still, but moving in action it looks fine....

snow-

It takes FOREVER to do this shit...I'm so meticulous, I'm always scared it's going to look too cartoony so I do it over and over and over again...but it's FUN I have to admit. You have to go through frame by frame, a lot like old school animation and it really is a blast for me, just very time consuming, but I like the effect, it's like a whole new world has opened up and I'm getting more tools...

as I learn this stuff more and more...I'll only get better.
