Greg Lamberson (Slime City) is putting out a great sounding book "Johnny Gruesome: Headbanger From Hell" I hopes it's made into a movie.

"Gruesome," the theme song for the novel, premieres on Rue Morgue Radio Janaury 5th.  It's the first of 9 songs that will be on a "Gruesome" CD that will be available in time for Halloween.  Giasone Italiano, the singer and co-songwriter (along with his wife Marcy, author of PAIN MACHINE) will be performing some of the songs at some point during WHC in Toronto.  I've heardthe finished version of "Gruesome" and demos for 5 other tracks, and I think horror fans will dig this.

"Gruesome" is a theme song for my novel JOHNNY GRUESOME, which will premiere on Rue Morgue Radio.  If you like Alice Cooper and The Misfits, this should be right up your alley.

It's just over 2 weeks before the January 5th premiere of Giasone Italiano's "Gruesome" song. In the spirit of commercializing Christmas, I'm going to start unloading the big promotional guns for this horror tune--blurbage!

One more week until the January 5 premiere on Rue Morgue Radio.  One more blurb to go and then I can put aside my music promoter hat (at least until the whole album is finished).  Once the song is out there in the world like a newborn monster, it can speak for itself.

Graham Masterton will be the spotlight writer, for issue #1. He will be writing a new tale for the issue and will be interviewed.

Mike Arnzen will be the featured poet and he will also be interviewed.

Dan Waters,Sephera Giron, and Monica O'Rourke will have fiction pieces.

Steven Savile will have a nonfiction piece.

Deb LeBlanc will be sending me a report about one of her ghost hunts.

Herschell Gordon Lewis will write an article about the new movie he had a roll in called Chainsaw Sally and I will be interviewing Sally.

THINGS TO KNOW THAT HAVE TO DO WITH THIS ISSUE:

There will be a Doorways party at the WHC hosted by Di Baron, who will also have a piece in the mag.

In the issue will be a excerpts from an interview done by the now missing Canadian journalist Richard Hipson. He was lucky enough to get an interview with Johnny Gruesome before he vanished.

Doorways has obtained a CD which contains a live recording of Richard Hipson’s final interview with Johnny. The first 50 people that buy Issue #1 will get a copy of this.

Can I tell you I'm excited?  And not in a horny way, but that may come later.

Next week, my SFX man on the "Gruesome" video--which is really a short horror film with a music video framing device--is casting the face of the actor who's going to play Johnny Gruesome. Because UNDYING LOVE and NAKED FEAR didn't feature prosthetics, I haven't sat in one of these sessions since SLIME CITY in 1986! And I've been waiting to see Johnny on film since '84.  I also jsut lined up a black Thunderbird to platy Johnny's Death mobile, and may have a steadicam.

For anyone who's interested, this short film will feture effects, gore, sex and rock 'n roll, and it's aimed at the SLIME CITY crowd.  I'm ahving a blast with it.
