Oh yeah, I've been reading Richard Laymon's "Cuts"...I'm about half way through, its quite groovy man. I have also been getting reaquainted with stories from the Books of Blood series, so I'll be completely refreshed for the movie releases.

I reviewed this a while back and I keep getting it. I think they gave me a free subscription or something. Anyway, it is alright, but not nearly as many reviews or original articles as Fango, Rue Morgue, Ultra Violent, Screem, or Videoscope. For FREE, it is all-fucking-right with me. But if you only have $7 go with one of the other ones. http://www.horroryearbook.com/54401/magazine-review-scars-magazine-issue-1

Ultra Violent.
That mag is especially cool if you like long ass interviews and coverage of movies. There was a great article on Murder Set Pieces. Art interviewed like 20 people from cast and crew and put it together. It was like 18 pages of actresses bitching about Palumbo and it was funny as hell. Plus their reviews tend to be more old, obscure horror and exploitation. They rarely cover mainstream crap. I reviewed some Rape Revenge for the last issue.

Yeah that sounds like more my kind of magazine. I have a hard time enjoying Fango anymore. Even Rue Morgue is just alright.
I'll check it out. Thanks!

Yep, I highly recommend them. Fango went way too mainstream and even Rue Morgue covers some of the same boring crap. Videoscope is my fav for reviews of all types of whacked out cinema and UV is my fav for detailed dirty horror. I guess UV reminds me of the old Deep Red mags. Good stuff.
Here is some random crap they've covered:
Ruggero Deodato (Cannibal Holocaust, Waves of Lust) Hideshi Hino (Guinea Pig) Don Edmonds (Ilsa: She-Wolf of the SS, Terror on Tour) Mike Mendez (The Convent) Nunsploitation Retrospective Nazi Exploitation Retrospective The History Behind Something Weird Video Johan Vandewoestijne (Lucker the Necrophagous) Indonesian Horror on-set report of August Underground

Something Weird video.
I think they are/were the company that distrubted a DVD of a Sandra Cassell porn movie she did right after Last House. Sandra of course quit acting after Last House and was supposedly terrified of David and cast while filming. I think the last thing I heard was she was a teacher in Washington state somewhere.

They've put out a bunch of HGL films, and other shit. I'm sure I've got at least 10 of their dvds. I've never read any horror magazine, but that's only because I'm always broke. You're making me want an Ultra Violent subscription though
