Cujo is the book he can't remember writing.  I've read On Writing, too, but had heard about King sipping on mouthwash to get drunk back in the late 80s.  The coke was a bit of a shock, though.  His habit was so bad he had to shove q-tips up his nose to keep the blood from spraying all over the pages of his manuscripts while he was writing.

The Boy Who Drank Too Much.  This was made into one of those watered down "message" tv movies back in the late 70s but the book has some heavy duty drinking scenes.  In the movie nothing really bad happens but in the book the kids are getting shit-faced and brawling at parties.

Was his idea for ROTLD ever supposed to be turned into the movie? I though i read that somehwere recently. I just watched his movie Midnight recently. It wasn't so great.
