BookExpo America in L.A.

Thursday, May 29th, my publisher, Medallion Press, flies me out to L.A. for BookExpo America, the annual event where publishers, booksellers and authors promote their upcoming book titles.  The event runs Thurs - Sun bat the L.A. convention center, but I'll only be there Fri and Sat.  It costs $70 to get in, but literally thousands of publishers will be giving away free books, so it's easy to turn a profit (I'm looking to score a copy of THE MAKING OF THE LORDS OF FLATBUSH and a bunch of children's books).

Like the other publishers, Medallion will be giving away free copies of their trade paperback of JOHNNY GRUESOME--hundreds of copies--which doesn't even come out until October.  I have 2 signings: 11 AM - Noon on Friday at the Medallion booth (#925), and from 4 PM - 5 PM on Saturday (Table 12) as part of the "traditional signing" with 575 other authors.  In addition, Medallion will be giving away copies all weekend at their booth.

On Friday, from 2 PM - 5 PM, you'll find me at the HWA table.  Yes, I rejoined.  With 2 books coming out this year (the other being CHEAP SCARES), I figured it was the wrong time to bail.  If the 4' x 18' JOHNNY GRUESOME banner that Medallion paid for is visible from the HWA table, I'll crack up.
