181  Horror Movies / Horror Movies / Re: TELL US WHAT CLASSIC HORROR FILM YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE ON DVD NEXT! on: March 14, 2007, 11:07:47 PM
This is kinda not on topic, but is extremely related (in my opinion)

I think Anchor Bay should release the House DVD collection in the states, formated to play on american DVD players.

They have it released in the UK only, and it has House, House II, The horror show (coinsidered house III) and house IV

I would love to have this but it's not available in the states

I have seriously coinsidered buying a brittish DVD player just to play it

Also, about time on Monster Squad

I downloaded a hella good torrent of it, so I've had it for a while, but I will definately get the real thing when it is released Smiley

185  Horror Yearbook General Info / Horror Yearbook General Forum / Re: HORROR DRUNX THE INTERVIEW on: March 08, 2007, 01:29:15 PM
Okay, I'll agree that the Horror Drunx crew started the fight, been when you have a job that lives and breaths a 'Cult Society', it's just part of the job to deal with whacked out folks. The whole horror industry is full of people who take it to be a way of life, not just a style of movies and writing. If they are going to run a mag dedicated to horror, it's their job to deal with horror fans and folks.

I agree

Well, the joke will be on them when the Drunx become a cult icon, and they realize they could have had an interview.

Personally, I feel that rue morgue is too mainstream for us anyhow
186  The Fun Stuff! / Other Crap / Re: Remakes you say.. on: March 08, 2007, 12:36:31 PM
Remakes should be opposed as long as the director sucks, and it's an OBVIOUS attempt to cash-in.

I agree

I dislike a whole lot of the remakes that have come out

There were some good ones in the 80s, and I like the remake of Night of the living dead, but it stops short of that.

And I really wish that the horror genre would get less stagnant and come up with something original, and not remake movies like "the hills have eyes" and then make a sequal to the remake...

I mean for the love of god....

The way I see, it's pretty fuckin' pompous to take a crack at a mans job. There really was no reason to even bring up what he does outside of being "The Horror Drunx". Hell, where I come from, any job that the cops wont arrest you for, is a GOOD DAMN job.

I agree

It's nice to see such "professional" approaches to their business ethics.

and a job is a job, someones got to do it, and because she snuffs her nose at it doesn't make it any less of a job. Not everyone can be the pompous editor of a flashy magazine, and I am sure she has people below her who she appreciates who clean her house, wash her car and cook her food, so why does it suddenly change when someone else does something similar?

I am not so much disgusted with Rue Morgue, but with Jok..whatever the hell her moniker is. And it's for her business practices.

Posting personal information is not only fucked up, but its unprofessional.

And according to her response to the horror drunx, she knows a thing or two about professionalism....

Maybe the 1st Godzilla had a message but sure as fuck not The Son of Godzilla! Unless it was about family values or some shit.

Woah woah woah

hold it there Wil...

you mean to tell me that Mothera had NOTHING to do with predetermining the post traumatic effects of 9-11 and the ensuing war on terror?

When they made that little larva turn into a beautiful mothera, I cried a little, out of my own realization of myself.

Holy fucking hell, I just realized I could write for rue morgue Cheesy

hahaha

Hows THAT for dressing up crap Wink

Oh suprise suprise....

ANOTHER Horror remake....

Hollywood should go fuck themselves.....

Or remake The sound of Music, or Raging Bull, or some other well recognized movie of a different genre

And the whole reason why horror remakes exist is because little fucking bitches can't appreciate the originals, and they want bigger tits and brand name stars and explosions and whatnot.

Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of explosions and tits, but there's a time and a place.

Make something original, and stop skull fucking the classics  Angry
191  Horror Movies / Horror Movies / Re: Zodiac on: March 06, 2007, 07:58:23 PM

Ok, so I saw Zodiac for free last night (having a friend that works for Fandango is AWESOME btw)

Personally, I had mixed feelings about it. I own the Zodiac book, written by the Cartoonist from the Chronicle, telling the story of how the Bay Area was terrified, and what Zodiac did during the late 60's - 70's, so I didn't know about this movie

Actually, I really enjoyed it.

It chronicles from the Vallejo Murders (which happened seriously like 25 min from where I grew up) on the 4th of July till around 1991.

It shows the way that Zodiac played a mindfuck on everyone and had the whole Bay Area freaked out. The movie follows not the Zodiac, but the Cartoonist (I can't think of his name) and how he became obsessed with trying to crack the case.

I also enjoyed it because of the local places in it, and actually where I am staying in San Francisco was in the film breifly (they drive by some houses down the street from mine on the way to a crime scene)

Not to mention, they go to the St. Vincent De Paul society in Daly City (about 4 blocks from the Theater I saw the movie at)

So I enjoyed it. I am a huge true Crime buff, and I thought this movie was very well done

192  Horror Movies / Horror Movies / Re: Saw 4 on: March 06, 2007, 07:50:56 PM
Saw 1 was good

I like the simplicity, despite the HORRIBLE performance from Carey Elwes

Saw 2 didn't impress me, but it was somewhat bearable (although we did talk shit about the whole movie during it, so I could be reminiscing about the jokes)

Saw 3 was absolute garbage. thank GOD for torrents, I refuse to pay for that garbage. And it seemed like they added twists for the sake of twists into this movie

Not to mention the "hero" of the movie was a fucking whinny ass little bitch....I mean, come on....

And now Saw 4?

Is it going to be better than Leprechaun 4 (Leprechaun in the hood) or even Leprechaun 3 (Leprechaun in Space)

Who knows....

but I am definitely done with this whole series. It's making me really not like Twisted Pictures anymore...

I would like to personally thank Horroryearbook.com for their continued support of not only the Horror Drunx, but of all horror fans

not just the ones who look good on paper, so to speak

Cheers,
