Actually Stan Lee drew his own mustache too. I was in the middle of drawing his glasses when he walked up and took it from me and added that. Then I asked if he thought I should pursue a career in the comic industry and he said No because he didn't need the competition.

WIL can you find this out? Aren't we friends with the Code Red guys? I'd ask Ed Martinez about this, but... you know

Yep, I highly recommend them. Fango went way too mainstream and even Rue Morgue covers some of the same boring crap. Videoscope is my fav for reviews of all types of whacked out cinema and UV is my fav for detailed dirty horror. I guess UV reminds me of the old Deep Red mags. Good stuff.

Here is some random crap they've covered:

Ruggero Deodato (Cannibal Holocaust, Waves of Lust)
Hideshi Hino (Guinea Pig)
Don Edmonds (Ilsa:  She-Wolf of the SS, Terror on Tour)
Mike Mendez (The Convent)
Nunsploitation Retrospective
Nazi Exploitation Retrospective
The History Behind Something Weird Video
Johan Vandewoestijne (Lucker the Necrophagous)
Indonesian Horror
on-set report of August Underground

Ultra Violent.

That mag is especially cool if you like long ass interviews and coverage of movies. There was a great article on Murder Set Pieces. Art interviewed like 20 people from cast and crew and put it together. It was like 18 pages of actresses bitching about Palumbo and it was funny as hell. Plus their reviews tend to be more old, obscure horror and exploitation. They rarely cover mainstream crap. I reviewed some Rape Revenge for the last issue.

I swear I have this somewhere along with Nico's Bloodstone. You know this is the dude I interviewed from Greece right? He is the director of Island of Death that was banned.

I reviewed this a while back and I keep getting it. I think they gave me a free subscription or something.

Anyway, it is alright, but not nearly as many reviews or original articles as Fango, Rue Morgue, Ultra Violent, Screem, or Videoscope. For FREE, it is all-fucking-right with me. But if you only have $7 go with one of the other ones.

Still haven't seen it, but it is on my list of out of print crap to track down on VHS. Is Code Red releasing the DVD, anybody?
12  Horror Movies / Horror Movies / Re: What's the last video you rented or watched? on: August 22, 2008, 03:55:37 PM
I love the Zombies. Zombie 3 is great. Zombie 4 was neat and had little midget jumpy type zombies and stars a porn star. I love Fragrasso and Mattei. Waiting on Zombie 5 now. The trailer looks awesome. Saw Black Demons, which was shit. Lenzi let me down.

And Andrew, get drunk before watching PocaHauntus. Or high.

The premise just seems silly, so I'll pass. But... there's a possessed nun in this??
14  Horror Movies / Horror Movie News / Re: Jack Ketchum's Offspring the Movie on: August 22, 2008, 03:45:22 PM
Lies!!! Ketchum is a cool guy.

Have you met him.
Yeah, he might be, and I'm sure Lucky getting removed wasn't directly from him.
They just should have left him!!

Nah I think Ketchum is cool. Andrew (dude directing Offspring) chats with me and he said Ketchum worked very closely with him on Girl Next Door. He was very involved in the process and was a great guy. He must be cool if they keep working together.

Ahaha, No Larry! That is one of my favorite Best Worst movies ever! I have that Double Feature with INITIATION (why are these two even together??).

I love the crazy old bat behind the counter and the camera always pulls away and you see a stuffed leopard and eagle or some shit right next to her. And the Black dude that take a craps and then sees her pop her head out of the floor. And the dumb chicks that sing in bed for the "record producer." Hilarious!
