That's why I sell my ass on the street for you.  BTW, please mail my tax statement on time this year, I'll need my tax refund for SLIME CITY MASSACRE.

I'm pleased to report that JOHNNY GRUESOME has been nominated for Dark Scribe's Black Quill Award, which readers get to vote on:

Oh, yeah--Frank Henenlotter told me a long time ago--when something simialr happened with BASKET CASE--that you should never stand in the way of someone else promoting your property.

I had to laugh when I discovered that someone is selling SLIME CITY T-shirts--for $30.00!

<The ad copy says, "Get some Tibetan yogurt and get crazy. The Slime City Tee is made from 50% cotton, 50% polyester and features a print of gruesomely, radly layered horror flicks on the chest, a print of the Creep Street "Creepy Herman Show" logo on the back, and a Creep Street logo label at the left sleeve end."

I've e-mailed the boys that it should be HIMMALAYAN yogurt, and have requested 2 shirts on the house.

You, however, are free to buy one here:

It's a nice design!

Great signing, BTW--they sold out of CHEAP SCARES while I was there.  I've never run out of books at a signing before.

Actually, because NBC dragged its ass on this, ABC is remaking the show--one of those "reimaginings"--without Johnson.  No respect.

Hey, after Festival of Fear someone posted on the Rue Morgue board, "I was surprised how young Greg Lamberson looks."

That was THIS year!

I'll be signing copies of JOHNNY GRUESOME, CHEAP SCARES!, SLIME CITY, the SLIME CITY Soundtack, and the GRUESOME rock CD at Dark Delicacies in Burbank, Ca from 2 pm - 4 pm this Saturday, Nov. 22nd.  Also appearing with me will be Robert Sabin, who starred in SLIME CITY and makes his living as a screenwriter, and Devi Snively, who directed the short films CONFEDERATE ZOMBIE MASSACRE, RAVEN GETS A LIFE, TEENAGE BIKINI VAMPIRE, and her latest, DEATH IN CHARGE; both of them are profiled in CHEAP SCARES.

So if you live in the LA/Burbank area, come on by.  This is your chance to tell me in person that:

1.  JOHNNY GRUESOME sucks

2.  SLIME CITY sucks

3.  CHEAP SCARES sucks

4.  I suck

5.  You could make a better movie than SLIME CITY

6.  The WILLARD remake is good

7.  I suck

8.  I should give all of my stuff away for free

9.  To sell my ass on the Hollywood walk of fame

10.  To never set foot in California again

I'll be the guy with the shit eating grin and the sunny disposition!

I must finish this book this upcoming week. I'm about 200 pages in and just haven't had the time to knock out the rest.

Good luck! )

I'm not sore, I just find there to be a lot of hot air on these message boards.

Sure you can make a movie "cheap."  I made NAKED FEAR for $7,000.  Justin Channell made DIE AND LET LIVE for $1,000 and I liked that.   Budget doesn't dictate quality. I  just happen to have written a very BIG script that I want to make which cannot be made in that range.  But since you know so much, keep talking shit.  And write your own damn book--or tell me how I should do that too.

I get a real kick out of someone telling me how easy it is to make a movie on digital--I just wrote an entire fucking book on the subject!  It takes the same amount of time to write, direct, anct, create special effects and score a movie regardless of what format you shoot in, and video actually takes longer to light because it's so volatile.  If you want something to look good, you hire a professional crew, not some stoned high school dropouts. That's why most digital films are CRAP.  We're going to shoot on digital, we're going to do it right, and it's going to cost at least $100,000.

My days of including free nude shots to sell a small press book are over.  Now that I'm with a bigger publisher, they cost $2 and a SASE.
