Ha! Found his name: Rob Black. In a movie called Ass Clowns a woman is raped and a tub of earth worms are poured on her. Then, she gets fucked in a pile of filth and insects. Another movie has a woman raped by leper vikings. A LOT of viking lepers. Rob Black does understand one thing though: what film boils down to is entertainment. People like the extreme. I think he pushes the envelope in the wrong way. Leper rape inspires terror, obviously, and also a degree of fascination. Were he an artist and if his actresses were treated respectfully, compensated fairly, it might almost be controversial cinema which holds up a mirror to society and says, "Look how fucked you are!" Anyway, re-watching the episode, I realized he's not the worst. There is some SICK shit out there. And it becomes rape and not consensual sex when there is no way to back out of a scene. If the actress is really suffering, it adds authenticity, which is fucking sick. And for me, that's when it crosses the line. It's no longer consensual; it's appalling, and becomes an especially heinous form of rape. THAT for me, is where the line is crossed, and it no longer becomes about pushing the envelope. It's criminal. But legal. Which is fucked.
Anyway, there's also a porn director named Lizzy Borden. She laughs as she describes bringing girls to tears, causing bloody noses, an actor beating a woman too hard. "For Cocktails, I had Christie get fucked in the ass and, um, then they put the enema in there, she shits it out, and she takes a cock all the way down her throat, makes herself throw up. Through the whole scene she's spitting, there's puke, there's like ass juice, um; when you do too much ass fucking and,um, lube gets in there, your tissue comes out of your ass, so it gets really long, and it gets real stringy, and she drank it at the end." That's Lizzy Borden recounting one movie. She giggles, then says, "I like shooting that." She believes if a woman is not brought to tears--if she's not puking and bruised--she's not doing her job.
Vivid girls make 100,000 for 5-8 movies a year. As far as business goes, Vivid is the top and gives women an opportunity to break into semi-professional markets.
Anyhoo...

There's this guy...don't know his name...but he works out of the US, along with a growing number of hardcore porn producers and directors who make stuff arguably more offensive than this. There was some two-part report on the old Disinfo TV show about him and others in the adult entertainment industry. There's some serious dislike toward the guy, but he knows business. I'm not opposed to much, but I hate that douche bag.
But as far as this film goes, I'm not sure if it'd bother me. I mean, it's not billed as a porn release, is it?
I should probably see the first one so that I know what I'm talking about.
As far as pushing the envelope too far...
There are a lot of envelopes, and each one has been pushed pretty far. I think what makes this film different is that it's pushing all of these envelopes at once.
Honestly, I don't know where the limit is or how far is too far. My beef with the porno director I mentioned earlier isn't that his films go too far, it's that he doesn't compensate actors fairly and is sleazy as fuck, he hurts the people he works with, he damages the legitimate aspects of the industry...meh, my list goes on.

I was excited when it was first announced. Now I'm kind of annoyed by the thought of it. It's egocentric.
I did like The Man With the Screaming Brain. It made me unpopular at parties...or would have if I had gone to the parties I wasn't invited...
God, I'm lame.

What's that show FOX has coming out? It's like The Jennifer Connely Files or something.
My T-tit may be milked dry. I don't think I care.
I would watch another one. I always enjoy dark futures and big explosions. And I might watch the TV show. I was pleasantly surprised by the Bionic Woman (which I'll give a solid C--I enjoy it, but it ain't that special and I wouldn't recommend it for everyone) and a few other shows I was certain I would hate.
I'm torn. Someone un-tear me. Tell me what to think!

This could easily be an awesome adaptation. Moore rocks and Snyder's a good director, so I'll put money on it rocking.

I'm really embarrassed to admit this...but I got addicted to Prison Break. When the show first aired, I figured it'd go nowhere. So I never watched it. Something prompted me to watch an episode. Then I watched every season. Backwards, kinda. Third season first, then the second, then the first. Yeah, I know...not a movie.
There's this Van Dam movie, I think it's called In Hell that I totally dug. I watched it with my friend and we read into way too much. It got us thinking about labor movements, human rights issues. . .but it was really about people beating the shit out of each other.

I had never gone to that Joe guy's site before. And since I'm neurotic, after you talked about it I didn't want to find it, cuz what if he has Google Analytics and I contribute to his Page View statistics and somehow upset the balance of the universe...
Anyway, I looked it up. It's nothing like Fear Zone, which rocks. The image is different, the content is different...
And do you know how many [site name deleted] there are out there? His site is really a pale imitation of a lot of things I've seen out there.
I hate douches.
I think we all know who wins this fight.
Oh, and I dug your contributions to the site. Me likee. Me love it long time.

Dammit. There's this line in Terror Firmer: "Ha. Shark...There's only one movie about a shark and that's Jaws. Spielberg." Okay, I'm paraphrasing. Can't remember the exact line, but it's when Casey is talking shit about independent films and endlessly praising Spielberg.
I do love Congo. And Gremlins. Both good picks. Birds is great.
I know this isn't really a mutated animal movie, but dammit, there's a mutated animal in it: Class of Nuke 'Em High. There's a mutated hamster in it. Or a gerbil. And it is definitely mutated.
I liked Primeval. I'd give it a B minus. Maybe a C plus. But I liked it.
I don't know the specifics, but in all likelihood, The Rising by Brian Keene will be made into a movie. There are lots of mutated animals in that book. Well, zombie animals. A zombie bear. Zombie bears are awesome.
Doesn't Paris Hilton play a mutated lemur in House of Wax?

It's good to see you too.
I was absent from this board for too long. I truly love horror yearbook. It will have a place in my heart forever.
Also, it's easier to talk freely here. I feel at ease cracking jokes and being myself.
'Tis nice.

But you guys have fancy advertisers.
Greg, I don't know the guy you're talking about but I KNOW him, meaning I've run into people like him. He just seems like an even more prickish version of the person I'm referring. (I don't want to drudge up shit from your history with this douche and ask a bunch of questions--that's a lie. I do. But I won't. I'll imagine the history I don't know anything about.)
Someone should sit him down--in a sorta heart-to-heart movie scene way--put a hand on his shoulder and say, "No matter how many people you sue, you'll never be better than them."
