anyone have an imdb pro account? log in and check out his imdb profile and all of his posts
he's perusing that place for more people to scam, it's sick
looks like he sits there all day posting on every topic like he knows what he's talking about. if you can't make it in hollywood, might as well pretend you're cool on the internet!!
he brags about being a "producer" in many posts, someone should blow up his spot and spill the beans on how he's dirt poor and a horrible actor.
he sprinkels artificial hair from a can onto his bald spot thinking on camera its going to cover up the fact that he's a washed up, scrawny 40 year old who's never made it
Man, I've seen exactly what you're talking about. He's on there all day everyday. I hate to just jump into your boards as a first time poster joining the charge on this shit, but I had to. I have some ideas about this situation myself.
I met Robert Kurtzman at a convention earlier in the year and asked him about Death Walks the Streets. He said that the script was "great" and that the project "will be great when it starts filming" and pretty much left it at that. Seemed complimentary of the writers and the script. No mention of Matt Pletcher/Harrison or his company.
In October I met James Zahn, Larry Thomas, and Ben Brezinski at a convention in Milwaukee. Larry said that Death Walks the Streets is "a fantastic script" amd that it was unique all the way around. He went onto say that the human characters were more sinister and evil than the monsters, and that fans were gonna go apeshit when this thing gets shot. He was a popular guy at this thing and his reaction was really enthusiastic.
When I moved over to the table James and Bem were at, they had a shitload of production art to share. Not just drawings either. Full blown makeup and costume stuff. FX work from Robert Kurtzman and everything. They were cool to talk to and you could tell they were definitely fans of the horror genre and dedicated to making something for the genre, When I went up to them they both smiled and shook my hand and said how they were "surprised" at how much hype was around death Walks the Streets. They seemed really genuine when they thanked me for my interest and questions. But, when I asked them about Matthew Pletcher and his company/ along with the stuff involving him on the internet they both kind of had a disapointed look on their faces. Ben said he couldnt comment on that, and James said he didn't "get involved in that stuff."
Since tyhat convention Ive kept up with this a little more than I had before even though I'd seen plenty of coverage here and DC and shit but started seeing a rift that might not be as obvious if not pointed out. The imdb thing is really obvious but their myspace blogs show hints of other things. Matthew says in several postings that he "hates horror movies" including this one
here where he says Jessica Alba was in TCM and is corrected by "Rev. Benji" who is actually Ben Brezinski. Look at the response to the correction in the comments. The next day, James Zahn posted this blog on his myspace
hereTheres some things in there that point to a rift with this "producer".
It just seems fucked up that a group of guys that love horror like James zahn and Ben Brezinski are working with guys known for Horror like Robert Kurtzman and Daniel Jason Heffner but a "working for" someone that says he hates horror as much as Matthew. Right? It doesnt add up. One of my other friends says he thinks that everyone "below" the producer will probably take the film to another "studio" if their contracts run out before Matthew lets them start filming.
