God this is everything that was ever wrong with Marvel comics. They are going to ruin their movies in no time with pieces of crap like this. There is nothing wrong with the minor changes they have made with their  movies in the past, but Deadpool was fucking pointless. Gambit was pointless. The entire movie was fucking awful.

It is their number one tactic, instead taking their time and making quality stuff they just jam  as many name characters as they can into one comic, offer 5 variant covers and when all that fails instead of reinventing the character they just change his outfit. They will do the same with their movies, it was nice while it lasted but knowing Marvel it is only going to get worst.

Instead of just trashing the movie , tell us what you would have liked to see or what they could have specificaly done different with DEADPOOL...last time i checked this movie was called Wolverine , not Deadpool...

Well Deadpool plays a major role at the end of the movie so that would spoil it. However, the movie is not titled "Wolverine and How Many Other Characters Can We Throw in For No Reason Because We Do Not Want to Make an X-Men 4 and Pay All Those High Salaries" either. Basically they just jammed a bunch of other mutants in the movie for no reason. The worst part is they hired Ryan Reynolds to play Deadpool then gave him 4 or 5 lines. It made no sense. Finally a role where Ryan Reynolds wouldn't be annoying or ruin a film and they decide to shut him up!?!

It was like they just said "hurry get from point a to point b as quick as possible and along the way randomly introduce a new mutant for no reason." Wolverine's origin is rushed, his love affair is corny and rushed, they keep pretending he is going to go mad, but then he finds redemption 600x and never really goes insane.  Then at the end when he goes from Canada, to Las Vegas, to New Orleans to Three Mile Island for revenge there is a cheap twist and he decides to walk away like nothing happens. There is really too much to point out on why this movie was awful, but it really was one of the worst of 2009.

I didn't realize Fox still owns the X-Men rights and Marvel only owns the newer movie rights, so it is not even Marvel's fault. Trust me though if you're a comic fan you know that Marvel can never keep a good thing going.

I seen the movie last night and found it to be at the least entertaining. It was without a doubt better than the third X-Men flick. That however isn't saying much.

My main problem with the movie is the fact that it's called Wolverine Origins, however it has little to do with that fact. The movie should have focused more on Wolverine's life, eventually leading to him being obtained by the Weapon X program. From there, it should go through Logan's torture and the inhuman tests that are performed on him leading to the discovery that he is the perfect match for the very painful adamatium bonding process. With hopes to turn him into the perfect weapon, he is put through the procedure, his memory erased and the adamatium bonded to his bone. However the process turns him into a feral beast as he breaks out of his confines and lays waste to most of the lab, escaping the facility. It's then when the likes of Sabretooth, Wade Wilson, Lady Deathstike, and Omega Red should be called upon to track down and recapture Wolverine. Along the way some other crap happens to lead Logan into calming the best that has emerged and turn into a man with a broken past that is found in the orginal X-movie.

Instead what we got was a very brief look at the Weapon X program, Wolverine volunteered for the procedure, which was near pointless, and there is a bunch of plot points that don't add up to the rest of the movies.

Ryan Reynolds' portrayal of Wade Wilson was great which makes me all the more pissed off at what he was turned into by the end of the movie. Deadpool's part in this movie should have been something similar to the Wolverine portion of the "Hulk Vs." animated movie, for those who have watched it. And I would have been okay if they had kept him pre-scarred with no mask. No real background explanation needed. A katana wielding Deadpool/Wade Wilson Vs. a feral Wolverine would have been massively epic. And I know, I know, it's not Deadpool's movie. But that is like saying, "Eh, so what if they made Dr. Octopus an actual octopus in Spider-Man 2, it's called Spider-Man, not Dr. Octopus", if you're going to go through the trouble of writing in a character (especially a fan favorite one), don't half ass it. It isn't hard.

Gambit was well done, aside from his hyper aerobics and disappearing accent. However he was pretty pointless and took away from Wolverine's story. Kestral could have served Gambit's purpose in the movie, no problem. However he, like Deadpool, were added to bring in fans of that character. Although that too is pointless as Wolverine is popular enough that he alone should draw in enough people. He was the main focus of all three X-Men movies for a reason.

Like I said, the movie was enjoyable, but it could have been so much more. I feel that if it had been in the hands of Marvel, the movie would have been on Iron Man level. I'm really hoping that if Marvel ever gets the rights back from Fox that they do a Hulk style reboot on a Wolverine movie.
