This one video store i used to frequent "porno heaven" . We called it that because it had this huge, open area porno room in the back with a cathedral ceiling. They had the whole line of big box WIZARD videos there. Im talkin' the complete series of Faces of death, a bunch of Fulci's and a ton of others .When they went out i only managed to buy 2. ZOMBIE and SILENT NIGHT DEADLY NIGHT...god i regret not getting more...

There's PLENTY of free porn on the internet now days.
As for Netflix... I can't really complain. I admit I'm a little depressed my children won't gain the same thrill I did running to the horror section at the video stores, but I suppose it's just human nature to frown at things changing. Twenty years from now, you're going to be sitting with your grandchildren bellowing "when I was your age, we didn't digitally do ANYTHING. We walked FIFTEEN minutes all the way to Greg's Video, and picked up Dawn of the Dead the RIGHT WAY. The VHS way. Then we'd lay on a tanning bed and have our nails cleaned."

I used to have a massive collection of vhs tapes. Back in the day around 1997 or so I used to drive all over the state looking for video stores that might have some horror flicks or wrestling tapes I hadn't seen yet, This was before the glorious days of internet and youtube when you used to have to dig to find this stuff.
I have fond memories as a wee Brain Hammer being in the video store and seeing stuff like It's Alive, Faces Of Death, Gatorbait, Parasite, 9 Deaths Of The Ninja, and Rabid. Those are some of the more memorable vhs I used to dream about renting.
I still buy used vhs when I see cool stuff for cheap. I have a few goodies like Suspiria, Twitch Of The Death Nerve and Flesh Eating Mothers on vhs.

yea, but then you get all that nasty spyware....torrents are'nt too bad but the dvd rips of porn movies are always a gig or 2 of space on the HD. plus watching porn in front of a computer isn't the most comfortable...i'd rather get lube on the remote than on the computer, new remotes are alot cheaper in the long run. hence why none of my dvd players have they're original remotes. i think i just outed myself as a compulsive masturbator. there used to be a really rad video store in el cerrito called video station, they had all the exploitation flicks, all the out of print vhs's laying around....it was the only place i could find strange brew and the last american virgin in the days before dvd. plus they had alot of cool wrestling tapes, old school jim crockett era NWA, AWA, Mid South and early 90's WCW. guess the owner was a fan or something. well fast forward a few years and they're now completly porn and nothing else. which isn't bad, but it's sad to see things change from the way you once knew them.

I bought a lot of great stuff at local video stores over the years. Used vhs were like crack to me. Back in high school I had stuff like Trick Or Treat, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1 & 2, Evil Dead, and Romero's Dead flicks because video stores sold them for cheap. Later on when I got into seriously collecting horror flicks (around 1997 or so) I picked up stuff like the big box versions of Blood Feast, The Prowler (the only uncut vhs version), Terror On Tape, and The Slayer/Scalps. I got all of those for cheap.
I used to drive all over the state looking for new video stores. It would be so exciting to find a new store with a decent horror section. I remember randomly checking out a place a short drive away that was an ice cream shop/gas station/video store. My jaw dropped when I saw the horror section - which contained CLASSICS like The Return Of The Alien's Deadly Spawn, Fight For Your Life, Curtains, House On The Edge Of The Park, and The Wizard Of Gore. This was before the internet existed, so stumbling upon these movies I had only previously read about was a freak happening. Needless to say, I rented everything they had.
Going to video stores was cool. I remember freaking out when a video store had a copy of the Run DMC movie Tougher Than Leather. I didn't want to return it. I also remember renting Redneck Zombies a bunch of times and showing to it to everyone that came over to our house. Or going to another random store and finding a used vhs copy of Demons or Moving Violations. I got the vestron vhs New York Ripper for $1 at a place called "Bub's Liquidation Warehouse." Good times!!!

Yeah there is a Netflix for porn but why bother?
Netflix may not have everything but they do have a lot of obscure stuff you couldn't get otherwise. Is there a Slumber Party Massacre DVD even in print?
All of the Slumber Party Massacre flicks are out of print. It sucks. I DEMAND A BOXSET!!!

with the job at the movie theatre, many benefits to be had. but one of them, if not the coolest benefit is free rentals at Reel Video. this place is a movie PALACE. they have it ALL. they have ALL the slumber party and sorority house massacre films (including hard to die), a seperate Troma section, a women in prison section. they have everything. including a bootleg of the roger corman fantastic 4 for rent.
it is the greatest video store i have ever stepped foot into. they keep the out of print vhs films....
video stores CAN be great again, and this place proves it
