I emailed Curnan PIctures a fews days ago inquiring as to when there might an actual DVD release of TALES OF AN ANCIENT EMPIRE, the sequel to SWORD, while I was at it I decided to, just for the hell of it, inquire about SWORD, and I was told Albery Ptun might do a "Personal Director's Cut" of the movie as a free extra to be added to a new DVD release. No news on when this supposed new DVD might be coming out though. Incidentally, TALES might be hitting DVD later this year.

This would be great IMO because there has to be MORE GORE in the directors cut of TSATS.

I'm in the process of watching it now. Got through with the first 20 minutes, and there are scenes of carnage that seems to hint at possibly things being cut down to get an R rating, like young Talon's fingers still stuck to the tree where the arrow pinned them down. They're seen from a profile view and you really have to look to see them. Makes me wonder if there was a close-up that might have been excised. And, Richard Lynch killing Talon's mother. The sword comes down, and then we cut to Talon screaming, "NNOO!" Wonder if that death will be unedited in Pyun's version.

Holy shit!   I have never even seen Tales of An Ancient Empire, I've been a fan of Sword for years and always wondered about that sequel...how is it, good?

Don't know, haven't seen it yet. Here's the trailer, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3p1V5E0RpA, which I just watched for the first time, and, well, not too impressed by it. Have a look and see what you think. Thank God, there's still SWORD. Lee Horsley is in it. I think, he's repising his Talon role from SWORD.

Yeah...I might just keep my Sword memories intact and forget about this one.

Finished watching SWORD last night. Excellent, man, totally excellent. Looking forward to Pyun's D.Cut, but TALES . . . looks like a big disappointment. It should have been made a short while after SWORD, then you would have had a worthy sequel.
