Few new pictures came out but I just wanted to point out this group shot -  I would say Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, and John Cho are dead on. Chris Pine and Anton Yelchin are off completely. Spock and Uhura look decent enough to be passable. I'm looking forward to this having been a fan of the films, ST:TNG, and ST:DS9. I know, i'm a fucking nerd. Big whoop! Wanna fight about it? |

I'm just indifferent to the whole thing. They had to reboot the series, so this is one of the few times I don't mind a remake/reimagining/reinvention. This franchise has been a rotting corpose in the morgue for a long time now, so a shot of anything could be a good thing.
WIth that said, I have never been a big Star Trek fan and I doubt any movie will ever top the greatness that was Wrath of Khan.

The new trailer was in front of Quatum of Solace and I got a boner and goosebumps from it. I think it will be next years blockbusters - even over Transformers 2. It just looks that damn good.

totally agree. Wrath of Khan was great and this reboot looks fucking great! from the looks of the trailer Spock is violent for once. brig it on!

From the footage that was screened for journalists in England, Leonard Nimoy has a rather important cameo as "older" Spock.
I just don't know why they couldn't find a way to bring back William Shatner in some way. The trailer looks good, it does look like they may "dumb things down" for the average person who hasn't watched the tv show or seen the movies. As bad as that sounds, it's just what this franchise needed.

The only Sci-Fi I get into are movies that have horror elements to them. I love the Alien movies and movies like The Thing and Re-Animator which are horror movies with sci-fi themes. I've always been that way. While other people I know were drooling over Star Trek and Star Wars I was waiting for the next slasher or zombie movie.
