BLAH! Robert Rodriguez is Re-booting PREDATOR! Written by IESB Staff Thursday, 23 April 2009
Director Robert Rodriguez has taken on the 20th Century Fox PREDATOR franchise and creating a newly rebooted "PREDATORS."
We've heard the rumblings that this was coming via B-D, but now it's been confirmed. IESB has also confirmed it will be Rodriguez' own take on the original concept and he is in fact not only producing the reboot, he's also directing it. This sounds like poop. Predator is one of my all time favorite movies and RR directing sounds like crap. I've never been a big fan of his movies...except for From Dusk Till Dawn, Planet Terror, and Desparado....other than that, all his other movies have been a pile of shit. Oh, and I dug The Faculty too.

Here's more info:
Robert Rodriguez (Sin City, Planet Terror) will not only be producing a reboot of Fox’s Predator series via his Troublemaker Studios, but IESB reports that he will also be directing the feature. In the film, tentatively titled Predators, “a team of commandoes face down a mysterious race of vicious monsters,” so it sounds like it will be somewhat a remake of the 1987 John McTiernan original. Rodriguez also plans to film a full movie based on his Grindhouse faux-trailer Machete, as well as Sin City 2 and a live action version of The Jetsons.

Man, I hope Tarantino and McGowan aren't in this.
Machete I'm looking forward to.
As for his other movies, I dig most of them. Sin City, Planet Terror, From Dusk til Dawn 1, amazing. The mexican trilogy, really all you need is Desperado. Once upon a time was a little too....blah and El Mariachi just sucked.

I enjoy the Predator movies, but it's not like Robert Rodriquez is directing a sequel to The Green Mile or some shit.

I'm reaching across the table to smack him in the face. You don't need to reboot Predator and especially with Rodriguez.

Predator is fucking sweet, but could totally be rebooted or remade or whatever the fuck. As long as there's excessive blood, gore, action heroes with machine guns, and cool looking monsters that they're trying to kill, I don't GIVE A FUCK.
PLUS: El Mariachi is great. I think too many people compare it to Desperado and are let down.
