I would like to see Mel play Main Force Patrol (MFP) police chief Fifi Macaffe, I dont think he wants to reprise his role as Max, like so many other artists dont want to revisit their early work (Sam Raimi). If he doesnt want it , let someone else own it. For me its all about the stunts. Herve' Villechaise could have played max and I still would have thought it was sweeet (almost as good as Mel). The first 2 Max movies were anchored by amazing, heart-pounding stunts.

Mad Max Movies.com reports that George Miller and friends were out and about promoting Happy Feet 2 yesterday, with all the star players on hand, and dialogue recording currently under way. This will obviously be the primary focus for the coming months, with the Sydney Daily Telegraph reporting that filming on Mad Max 4 is set to commence in August.

The New Barbarians feature a lot of exciting car chases. Their cars can reach up to 300mph.

Well, we know there's no way in hell Mel is coming back after his recent insane rantings and ravings...

but you know what...

after seeing Tom Hardy in Bronson and Inception.

I'm good. He's a fucking badass.

MGM Home Entertainment has officially announced Mad Max for October 5 in a Blu-ray/DVD pack. Assuaging enthusiasts' fears, the studio has informed that this dystopian movie, directed by George Miller and starring Mel Gibson, will feature two 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio soundtracks: the original Australian track, and a dub track created for the American release to make dialogue comprehensible to local audiences. And this time, some of the bonus features from the 2002 special edition DVD have even made it to the high-def disc.

Special features include:

Filmmaker commentary by Jon Dowding, David Eggby, Chris Murray and Tim Ridge
Documentaries:
Mad Max: The Film Phenomenon
Mel Gibson: The Birth of a Star (on the DVD)
Theatrical trailers
TV spots
"Road Rants": Trivia & Fun Fact Track (on the DVD)
Photo gallery (on the DVD)

In the original, Max is inticed to stay on the force with the pumped up Interceptor. Now it being 2011 and the film, like the original, may take place a few years from now. The suped up prototype doesn't seem to far out there. But ramming motorcycles and other vehicles off the road with this type of supercar does seem a bit unbelievable. The old design had enough muscle to take a few hits and keep on truckin'. One good speed bump and this car is toast.

Apples and Oranges !!!

I enjoy the X-men films. Thunderdome got hijacked as soon as Max walked into Barter Town. Yes, I like the fight in thunderdome and yes I hate Tina Turner. My real problem with Thunderdome is the lack of car chases and the whole lost children aspect. In Mad Max, children were roadkill or damn close to it. If Fury Road doesn't bring us back to police chases I will be seriously dissapointed.  They can't go any farther into the future as portrayed in the previous films. Obviously, they have to portray society like it has recovered somewhat from the state it was in in Thunderdome. There were no cars left. Mad Max needs cars like Dawn of the Dead needs Zombies. As for Wolverine Origins, I enjoy the X-men movies and I look forward to The Wolverine when it comes out.
