Synopsis
The feature version of the trailer finds Machete (Trejo) a renegade former Mexican Federale, roaming the streets of Texas after a shakedown from drug lord Torrez (Seagal). Reluctantly, Machete takes an offer from spin doctor Benz (Fahey) to assassinate McLaughlin (De Niro) a corrupt Senator. Double crossed and on the run Machete braves the odds with the help of Luz (Rodriguez), a saucy taco slinger; Padre (Marin), his “holy” brother; and April (Lohan), a socialite with a penchant for guns. All while being tracked by Sartana (Alba), a sexy ICE agent with a special interest in the blade slinger.

If this is anything at all like the faux trailer, then it will be awesome. And with a cast that includes Trejo, Seagal, and De Niro, it should very well be.
It would be so awesome if they paired this up with a movie based on the Thanksgiving trailer for a Grindhouse 2. Yeah, not gonna happen.

EVERYONE that made a fake trailer wants to turn their trailers into movies. Whatever happened to just making something cool and letting it be.
With that said, if any of these awesome trailers had to become real, I'd pick Machete far before any of the rest.

This is filming on a deserted airbase literally a minute from my house. I used to draw Rodriguez' blood when i worked at a clinic here in town. Nice guy...not a chatty cathy, that's for sure.

I see what you mean but all of the fake trailers looked pretty damn good. I'd really enjoy Thanksgiving or Werewolf Women of the SS especially.

I have this weird love/hate relationship with RR.
On one hand, the motherfucker is a hero among low-budget moviemakers...the dude made El Mariachi for 7,000 bucks and not no digital computer shit...he made a FILM for 7,000 dollars...then went on to get so rich and popular that he now has a fucking full blown MOVIE STUDIO IN HIS FUCKING GARAGE. What a goddamn BADASS.
BUT...I mean...there's just something about his movies that keep them from being full blown classics for me. I enjoy the hell out of them...I just wish he'd take his stuff more seriously, you know? He loves cheese, and I just wish for once he'd step back and really take his time to make something.
And I know that's kind of hypocritical coming from a dude who makes a movie every six months...but that's just because of where I am right now...I feel I have to...but trust me...if I had the money and the TIME...I certainly wouldn't be having the output I do now.
So yeah...I'll got watch Machete and smile and have a good time, but will it really floor me like a great movie does? Nah...prolly not...

This sounds interesting enough, although I've only seen From Dusk Till Dawn, I'm thinking about grabin El Miriachi or whatever else he's done.

I think El Miriachi is my favorite film of his. The rest of the Mexico trilogy is pretty sweet, but the original just feels good, maaan. From Dusk Till Dawn is pretty tight, and I dig Sin City too. Rodriguez is a pretty rad dude.
