I t makes sense that we should also have a thread for discussing any animation NOT related to the MARVEL or DCD Universe. Here's my picks for what I need to add to my collection in this general animation department. THE ADVENTURES OF THE GALAXY RANGERS, one THE best 80s cartoons ever made! Down the ranks is THUNDERCATS, M.A.S.K. (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand), DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS (which I DO own), ROBOTECH, THUNDARR THE BARBARIAN. MIGHTY ORBOTS and SPAWN! Oh, and dig that fuckin' cool music for the RANGERS: OPENING THEME: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3EoBl5uBfU&feature=player_embeddedOPENING THEME (LONG VERSION): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Sso3h0xMJA&feature=player_embeddedALTERNATE ENDING THEME: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvWtI4NZjTI&feature=player_embedded

I want Dungeons and Dragons on DVD. Is it the all episodes? I have the first season of Voltron that I bought at some convention I was working at. I was drunk and I never watched it The Lion head box is cool though.

Good news and bad news concerning D&D. GOOD NEWS: You can get the ENTIRE series at AMAZON for $6.99, distrbuted from Mill Creek ENtertainment. BAD NEWS: The series originaly came out back in 2006 and it was loaded with special features. The re-issue from Mill Creek omits ALL those features, but, well, hell, you get the WHOLE series for a steal.
More bad news: On the old collection, which, thankfully, I had the presence of mind, and the dough, to buy, someone who was putting the series back together, remastering it, whathaveyou, didn't realize that later on in the series the opening titles were altered. So every episode has the traditonal opening, and not the snazzy new one that they made for it later on. If you had the old collection, they included the remade opening as a special feature.
Those motherfuckers! That new opening was cool, and now because someone didn't know, we'll never see that opening tacked on to those later episodes.
Here's what was included as extra features:
Entering the Realm of Dungeons & Dragons Featuring Interviews with the Show's Production Team, Writers, Animators, and Network Executives. Two Full Episode Commentary Tracks with Bob Richardson, Hank Saroyan, Mark Evanier, Michael Reaves, Ted Field II and Judy Price. Hosted by Andy Mangels. Episode #01 "Night Of No Tomorrow" and Episode #20 "The Dragon's Graveyard" Full Length Animated Storyboard with Interactive Comparison for Episode #14 "The Girl Who Dreamed Tomorrow" Interactive Adventure - "Kelek's Crystal" 50 Detailed Profiles of Various Characters, Creatures, and Artifacts Short Live-Action Dungeons & Dragons Fan Film "Choices" by Sean Kennedy Radio Show-Style Presentation of the Unaired Final Episode "Requiem". Featuring Popular Animation Voice Talent - Including Original Cast Member Katie Leigh Alternate/Rare Footage Trivia Galleries DVD-ROM Features Include Scripts, Storyboards and the Series' Development Bible (PC/MAC Readable) Ink & Paint Trailers

NEW THUNDERCATS CARTOON IN THE WORKS SLASH FILM ( http://www.slashfilm.com/details-emerge-thundercats-cartoon-series/): When word got out that Cartoon Network would be reimagining the classic 1980s cartoon Thundercats in 2011, fans were simultaneously excited and nervous. The excitement centered on the reality of seeing new adventures with characters like Lion-O, Panthro, Cheetara and Tygra. But the word “reimagining” raises huge red flags. What exactly does it mean? Well one of the show’s producers, Michael Jelenic, released a few small details that should ease fan trepidations. Read all about it after the break. MTV spoke with Jelenic (with a nod to Collider), who is best known for his work on Batman: The Brave and the Bold. He talked about the passion of the fans, the animation studio and more. The most important thing he talked about, though, was exactly how the show was going to be “reimagined.” One thing is that I tried to simplify the mythology a little bit. It’s a pretty complicated backstory that borrows from a lot of other sci-fi stuff, like Superman and Star Wars. In developing this, I wanted it to be a little more simple. In the other version, there’s something like three different planets involved, and they all converge onto one planet, and nobody’s really connected. I just wanted to bring that all together. It’s reimagined in that way, but at the same time, we’re going to see the characters that we love. He also confirmed that Snarf would be in the show and will not talk. Thank god. He won’t be going, ‘Lion-O, why don’t you do this?’ We just having him say, ‘Snarf! Snarf!’ That’s a way to get him in the show without annoying every single person who hates him. It’s funny, because people are always like, ‘I hate Snarf! Wait. you’re not going to put him in? That’s terrible!’ Finally, though we’ve seen the below rendering of Lion-O, we don’t really know how the new show will look in comparison to the classic cartoon. So, here’s a brief description. I think when people see the final character designs, people will think it’s a different take, but it will feel very familiar to the old series. The colors aren’t quite as bright as they were. It’s a little darker take, but you’ll recognize everybody. Don’t forget to check out our original article to read the initial press release with all kinds of addtitional information. So Thundercats fans, what do you think? Is Jelenic saying the right things and do you think the show will be as cool as the original?

I never watch special features anyway. The entire series for $6.99 sounds great. I just need to get a credit card again.

Wil, you could always get a VISA gift card, which is what I use. I, too, don't own a credit card, glad I never got one, too. The gift card route is the best one. Are you hip to these things, Wil? Or, you could get DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS from CD UNIVERSE ( http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=7973225&style=movie), they take checks.

I don't have a bank account lol. I will need to get one soon so I can move. I can always charge it on the HYB credit card, but I put so much on there while in New Orleans. I will just wait a month or two to buy it. Unless they take Paypal.

Okay, I'm getting the sense you're not hip to the VISA gift card thing, You don't need a bank account for it. Just about every place carries the gift cards. I get mine from RITE AID. You can find them up near the register, or in the front of the store. There are two kinds I have used. The Green Dot VISA Gift Card and the Vanilla VISA Gift Crad. They cost $4.95, and with the Green Dot you can load 20-200, maybe, more, can't remember, into it. They only accept cash. You take one of those bad boys to the register and the chick working it will ask how much? You tell her how much, and shoot that money right on over to her, keeping in mind you have to also pay for the cost of the card. You then take that mother of a card home, go online, it'll say on the back where to go, and open an account. Now, with the GREEN DOT's, you will have to fill out an online form, one that will ask for your address and social securiy number. If you're cool with that, proceed on through and open the account. ALso keep in mind, they will take out $5.95 each month as "maintenence fee" to keep the account open. All I do is open an account, buy what I'm gonna buy then close it. Now, if you have money left when you close the account, you'll get a check in the mail a few weeks later with that and the amount you paid for the card. If you're not cool with giving the faceless suits online your address and your social secuirty number, buy a Vanilla VISA Card. All you do when you get online is insert the cards number into the VANILLA VISA's website and your good to go, however, getting any money back that you have left over will require making a phone call and talking to a rep. So, you see it's a trade off bwteen the two. I prefer GREEN DOT. Now, you don't have a bank account? Where do you keep you money? Or do you live "off the grid?" Am I talking to a wanted man?

I do live off the grid, but not for long, and not because I'm a wanted man. Just easier that way, no taxes, no jury duty and so on. I have had credit cards and bank accounts in the past. I just gave them up a few years ago. I normally just use the HYB card but Chad is going to kill me when he sees I charged $100.00 at Game Stop and now I just found out my Wii is "ringing" my games and I need to get it fixed.

Shit, I should have warned you about that. That's right, Mills Creek has the entire series and two other releases that split the series up into two sets. Funny, you should mention that. I found it at my local K-Mart, too, and went to pick it up, just to look at it, amazed that an etire series would be priced so low, and found it was only 9 eps.
You didn't buy it , did you?
