I know its not in the horror section to those who consider it a horror film, but come on guys its action all the way even though the premise is on the line of being a horror film. You all no the plot line so i won't bother saying it and if you have never seen it what the hell is wrong with you. anyway this was one of the first films i have ever seen. I think i was five when i had seen it and it gave me such nightmares that i still remember them to this day. i don't have them anymore, but after 20 years i still remember. wierd. but later in life this became the one movie that pretty made me want to make movies and here i am making movies. Wooohoooo.

but the real reason I wrote on this was that i feel that this may well be the ultimate guys movies as the subject line states. why? Recently i realize that many of the supposized guys films are more or less gay in a way. I mean think about all the action icons from the past 20 years. Arnold, stallone, van damme, etc. and what do they all have in common. the end up taking off their shirts, flesking their muscles and wrestling other guys. Shit remember The Transporter. he was wrestling with guys cover in grease- wtf. anyway i think all those films had that stupid formula of burly guys shirtless and fighting and that's just not what i would consider something a guy movies is all about. and no i don't want to make it seem like gay people only like those moveis or anything and not trying to dis of them or anything either. anyway continuiing on.

so back to Jaws: Three guys in a boat- no shirtless scenes or fighting. Fishing. the scene when they are showing off their scares from dealing with the ocean life was awesome. its still one of my favoairte scenes of all time, especially when Quint tells his story of the USS Indianapilis sinking and getting chewed on by sharks all week long.

I don't know what all you film nuts out there think is the ultimate guys movie but please share.

Well it's like liking cock in your porn. (This is coming from an expert, me, who worked in porn for plus 3 years) most straight men prefer it to lesbaian porn, because they need to put themelves in the place of the man in the movie and are more visual then imaginative. So all the shirtless action heros serve the same purpose. Guys want to be the shirtless men saving the day. They're not wishing they could rub the shirtless man (that's reserved for homosexuals and guys who pretend to be straight and watch bukkake) they wish they could be him not in him.

That's one reason Shaun of the Dead was also popular. Every loser guy on the planet has fantasies that one day he will show his girlfriend that he is not a loser. Big losers like me like to imagine things like a zombie apocalypse instead of realistic events and Shuan captured that well where your hero was not a shirtless guy. I blame the TV show Roseanne for this trend.

sorry i didn't mean to come across that gay men only like to watch action films with guys wrestling. but what i was trying to get after was what you came up with WIl which was that its more guys fantasy to blow shit up and fuck beautiful women.

in reality, I work in retail and
hate most things, these kind
of flicks are a good escape
from reality. I don't think I've
returned yet though.

I'm not a dude either (although I've been called sir in the McDonalds drive through cause my voice is a bit deep  )  and Jaws is one of my favorite movies.   I still watch it a couple times a year.    My favorite action stars today would be Jet Li and Tony Jaa.     Never was big on the whole Stallone and VanDummy.
