Seriously if you think about how many video game based movies are out there, not one was decent enough to be a hit, but still people are making them.

1; Streetfighter, Double Dragon, Mario Bros., Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Mortal Kombat, Bloodrayne, Dead or Alive, Wing Commander, Castlevania(in production), stealth fighter,

the only videogame in my opinion that might actually work as a movie would be Zelda, but that would turn into another Lord of the Rings rip off.  maybe it should wait for like 5 or 6 years

I really enjoyed Silent Hill, and also like Resident evil as a "fun" movie. Plus you get to see Mila's naughty bits.

I'm gonna agree with Filmguy.
While some of them are still "fun" to watch,
they are (in my mind) not the way they should be.
I expected a bloodbath for Mortal Kombat and a
more Romero type Resident Evil (his script was pretty wicked!)
But oh well, to substitute I got Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky
and Dawn of the Dead

How drunk was I that I put a space between the "m" and "ovie" but really think what you guys are talking about 1st. It's video games made into movies how good could they really be? Mortal Kombat probablt was not very bloody because they were shooting for a low MPAA rating and it did a very good job of mixing the fun of the game in with a entertaining movie.

yea i don't know.. Silent Hill was a perfect adaptation. i love the RE films just because they're eye candy with "non-stop violence".. although more zombies and "a puzzle" here or there would be an improvement. i liked Bloodrayne, even though it did suck.. mostly because of it's setting. it didn't have Nazis and that's what made the 1st game fun, if they made a sequel with them it could be a redeeming movie. Mortal Kombat.. fighting to techno music.. it was one of the first movies to do that! anyway though, you can't expect a video game movie to be good by most standards. if you go to see how bad it is compaired to the game or whatever.. you still see it.. and Hollywood wins.

you also have to look at the target audiences. a Mario Bros or Zelda movie is destined to suck because it's too hard to make a kids movie adults enjoy too.

Yeah I loved Silent Hill, that was fucking awesome.

And Double Dragon had Alyssa Milano in it and I watched it in 8th grade and got a big time crush on her.  Luckily she did Embrace of the Vampire right after I saw it.  Cheesy:D:D:D:D:DD:D:D
