He didn't die in the movie so they probably planned to have him back in the next one but now he's dead and there's no way they can replace him with another actor.

Mr. Freeze had a good backstory in the comics and on the cartoon. I think a serious toned Mr. Freeze would be perfect. Of course the Cat Woman would be pretty fucking rad in the next one too.
