Soooo there's no topic on this around here?
Really?
Well I saw it and loved the shit out of it, but I'm a sucker for big budget super special effect extravaganzas. I know a lot of people are saying it lacks story and dialouge but I think they're on crack. I mean sure it's a little derivitive but I think it has more than enough new stuff to completely seperate it from anything that's been done before.
I thought the acting was fantastic too, especially since most of the folks are CG, they had just as much effect on me as live action actors.
As cool as Sam Worthington (very good job) Zoe Saldana and Sigourney Weaver were...you know who steals the show?
FUCKING STEPHEN LANG. He plays the evil general and he is a 100% badass in this and everything he's ever been in. He was the gunslinger called up from Texas to take down Dillinger in Public Enemies, but for those of you who have ever seen the 80's classic BAND OF THE HAND, you'll know him as the Indian who trained the crew. I don't know where he's been all these years, but holy shit it's great seeing him get work again!
If it takes James Cameron another 12 years to make a movie, it's fine with me, so long as it's as good as this one was. It's like he looked at all the big hollywood blockbusters that's come down the pipeline in the last decade, smirked and said, "Lemme show you kids how it's done," then he bitch slapped them.

I still can't believe how much money these idiots spent on this fucking movie. I'm going to check it out on Friday. I have super low expectations, so I'm hoping I'll dig it regardless of how fucking ridiculous the people that made it are.

Hell yeah with some Stephen Lang. He was fucking built for this one. I haven't seen it yet, but I heard a lot of good stuff. Looks like Cameron is at the top of his game.

I couldn't see it in 3D. Watched it in 2D and I thought it was just OK. Story and dialogue were shit.
