The only evidence I have currently are these two AMAZON listings, Mill Creek Entertainment seems to be the distributor. I emailed their acquisitions department asking them if this was indeed true. If I get a reply, I'll let you all know.

AMAZON US: (http://www.amazon.com/Gamera-Guardian-Universe-Attack-Blu-ray/dp/B003XMKU52/ref=sr_1_1?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1283122040&sr=1-1)

AMAZON CA:  (http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B003XMKU52?tag=bluraycom0c-20)

I actually got a reply from Mill Creek, and here's what they said:

Good Morning,

Thank you for your interest in Mill Creek Entertainment and its line of products.  With regards to the DVD set in question, details for this particular release will be posted on our website in September.  Please continue to visit our website to see this announcement and our other future new releases.  If you have any comments or inquiries, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

Lyle Goff

Well, they didn't deny the 80s Gameras were being released, so, I have to assume this has to be true!

I have found if it's listed in Amazon then it's being released because it's only listed for you to preorder.

I only questioned it because I had heard nothing on these titles being acquired by an Amercian company. I usually take these announcements with a grain of salt until I hear directly from the company, or see an official press release.

Again, why Blu-Ray? Why can't we get a standard release of these flicks, too?  But, on the plus side, they are DIRT CHEAP blu-rays, which is good.

DVD PACIFIC (http://dvdpacific.directtoustore.com/Movies/Movie.aspx?v_id=SETE+++246044&search=gamera&sec=title&prodid=MLCR63017BR) has the double feature up now for pre-order! And. it's a measly $7.41! Still, I wonder about the quality. Someone needs to buy this and make a post about its transfer.

I've heard the transfer looks fantastic and it has indeed been letterboxed!
