You know.. I liked it when I was a kid for whatever reason, and recently watched it after buying the boxset. Fucking awful. At least four had the dog pissing fire. I'd agree with Wil on the series getting worse with each addition, but maybe 5 is a little worse than Freddy's Dead. ALTHOUGH. Wes Craven's New Nightmare was pretty tight. I guess that doesn't count?

In Nightmare on Elm Street terms Freddy vs. Jason is the worst. One reason, Freddy kills one person in the whole entire film...one person. The last three installments of the Nightmare series had at least 3 kills in them. ONE?!?! Bullshit, that movie was called Freddy vs. Jason, but it might as well have been called Jason kills everyone and Freddy tries to stop him.

I once argued that Father McGruder was one of the worst zombie killers considering his small body count, but a wise man, using a hockey metaphor, enlightened me. It's not whether you won or lost, but whether you played a good game. Besides, the object of the film was to pit Freddy versus Jason, which was accomplished well. |
