The Blockbuster by my sister's house is going out of business and they're selling everything in the store. I found around 20 movies but had to put a lot back due to scratches. I made the poor clerk open each one so I could look at them. They were $5.99 and may be reduced in price later this week.

Here is what I got:

Behind the Mask
Doomsday
The Postman (You know I love post-apocalyptic movies)
Scanners
Inside
Inglorious Basterds
Dead Snow
Rogue
The Last Exorcism
Piranha
Orphan

Around $80

My 2010 single closing was:

[rec]
Pontypool
In the Mouth of Madness

I was kind of disappointed.  New one closing in Jersey though.

The one I went to was in NJ. South Plainfeild. Is that the one you're talking about? If it's the shelves were pretty full. Are Blockbusters closing all over?

Ha, the one blockbuster within an hour of me shut down years ago, snagged so many VHS from that thing.  Out of control.  I hate to say it, but movie stores shutting down is probably one of the coolest things...ever.  I hit a Suncoast in a mall in NYC on their final week sale years ago and snaggd so many brand new DVDs for like $3.  It was sweet shit like Troma's release of Pigs and Mudvayne DVDs.  Word.

My local video store recently flushed their entire VHS stash and I picked up a shitload.  I got the first 7 Witchcraft films in very good condition (because I'm sure I'm the only person that ever rented them).  I paid $2 a piece ($14 altogether if you can't multiply) and sold the whole set for $40 on Ebay like last month.  Not too shabby.

Nothing brings me more joy than closing video stores.  I know that doesn't sound good, but I always get sweeeeeet DVDs from that shit.
