Here is a list of directors, writers, actors and an episode guide for Fear Itself, NBC’s new 13-episode suspense and horror anthology series from Lionsgate. The bad news is that it is on NBC and not cable, the good news is that its a pretty good collection of directors and writers.

Directors:

John Landis (An American Werewolf in London), Darren Bousman (Saw II, III and IV), Ronny Yu (Freddy vs. Jason, Bride of Chucky), Brad Anderson (The Machinist), Breck Eisner (upcoming
Universal Pictures film Creature from the Black Lagoon), Mary Harron (American Psycho), Stuart Gordon (Re-Animator) and Ernest Dickerson (NBC’s Heroes)

Actors:

Brandon Routh (Superman Returns), Shiri Appleby (Roswell), Elisabeth Moss (Freakazoid!, Suburban Commando), Cynthia Watros (Lost), Eric Roberts (Heroes), John Billingsley (Star Trek: Enterprise), Russell Hornsby (Lincoln Heights), Pablo Schreiber (The Wire), Stephen Lee (Boston Legal), Stephen R. Hart (), Jack Noseworthy (Judging Amy) and Larry Gilliard Jr. (The Wire) are among the sought-after actors who will be portraying various characters in three episodes of the series.

Writers:

Joe Gangemi (Wind Chill, the novel Inamorata), Steve Niles (30 Days of Night), Dan Knauf (Carnivale, Supernatural), Lem Dobbs (The Score), Matt Venne (White Noise 2:The Light), Richard Chizmar & Johnathan Schaech (Masters of Horror, From a Buick Cool, child lover Victor Salva (Jeepers Creepers), Mick Garris (Riding the Bullet, Amazing Stories), Drew McWeeny & Scott Swan (Masters of Horror), Kelly Kennemer (The Music Within) and MaxLandis (Masters of Horror).

Episode Guide

Eater: Directed by Stuart Gordon and written by Cemetery Dance Magazine publisher and editor Richard Chizmar with actor Johnathon Schaech. A rookie cop (Moss) must spend her first night in the precinct watching over a serial killer, coined “The Eater” (Stephen R. Hart). When her fellow cops start acting bizarre, she quickly learns that no one is who they seem. Russell Hornsby, Pablo Schreiber andStephen Lee also star.

Spooked: Directed by Brad Anderson and written by Matt Venne. While on a stake out in a haunted house, a private eye (Roberts) is made to confront the demons of his past. Jack Noseworthy, Cynthia Watros and Larry Gilliard Jr. also star.

Community: Directed by Mary Harron and written by Kelly Kennemer. When a young married couple, played by Routh and Appleby, find the perfect house in the perfect neighborhood, their lives seem…well…perfect. But as the dark underbelly of their neighborhood creeps to the surface, they soon realize that their neighbors will go to any extreme — even murder — to make sure that they comply with their twisted sense of conformity. John Billingsley also stars.

Red Snow: has a screenplay written by Mick Garris (Oh God), from a story by Del Howison. Breck Eisner will direct. When four criminals find themselves stranded in an old, snow-covered fort, they slowly discover both the fort and the seductive trio of sirens who reside there are filled with deadly secrets.

Chance: Written by Lem Dobbs, with a director to be announced later. In the vein of such classic doppelganger stories as “Jekyll & Hyde” and Poe’s “William Wilson,” the episode explores a dreadful, classic battle that ensues when a man is confronted by his evil self.

New Year’s Day: Directed by Darren Bousman, and is written by Steve Niles from a story by Paul Kane. A young woman wakes up in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by horrifying zombies.

Family Man: Directed by Ronny Yu and is written by Dan Knauf. This action-charged, psychological thriller focuses on a likeable family man who switches bodies with a serial killer after a near-death experience. Now, he must fight from behind bars to keep the murderer from adding his family to the long list of victims.

Skin & Bones: Written by Drew McWeeny & Scott Swan with a director to be announced later. When a cattle herder returns home to his family after being lost in the woods for days, he just doesn’t seem the same. Soon, a terrible mortal struggle ensues against the terrifying monster possessing him.

Something With Bite: is a reinvention of the classic werewolf story from writer Max Landis, the son of John Landis. Ernest Dickerson will direct.

Nightmare in Lace: John Landis will direct an episode written by Victor Salva. On her wedding day, a beautiful bride receives a mysterious note that reads: “The person you are marrying is a serial killer.”

Can this be good if Master's of Horror was Okay and on Showtime, and this is basically the same thing but on NBC?

It premieres June 5, but it starts of with a screenplay by Mick Garris, who you should know by now really sucks!!!

“The Sacrifice” — has a screenplay written by Mick Garris (”Riding the Bullet,” “Amazing Stories”), from a story  by Del Howison (”Dark Delicacies”). Breck Eisner (”Creature from the Black Lagoon”) will direct. When four criminals find themselves stranded in an old, snow-covered fort, they slowly discover both the fort and the seductive trio of sirens who reside there are filled with deadly secrets. Jeffrey Pierce (”The Nine”), Jesse Plemons (NBC’s “Friday Night Lights”), Stephen Martines (”Port Charles”), Rachel Miner (”Californication”) and Mircea Monroe (”Drive”) star.

It  was ok...kinda like a watered down Masters of Horror...but I'll keep watching in order to support TV horror.  Who knows, there could be some really good episodes on the way??

I really liked tonights episode...The Family Man, directed by Ronnie Yu.   I thought it was pretty good.  I wasn't expecting too much, cuz the first 2 episodes were just ok...this one though, cool.  I'll definitely keep watching.  None of the horror TV shows have  ever had all aces.  Even my favorite, Tales From the Darkside, had some stink bomb episodes.

Sturat Gordon?  Great.  I haven't kept up with this.  Can't stand all the banners on the bottom and the fing commercials.  I know all women like to do is use swiffer jets, but i get so tired of seeing their happy faces pushing those things around.

Yeah...the commercials during the show are EXTREMELY annoying, but what can you do?  It wouldn't be so bad if it was just a mindless sitcom, but its an hour story...and if it is good story  you get wrapped up in it.  The last thing you want is for 679 commercials to be interupting the damn thing!

Stuart Gordon's "Eater" was tonight's episode. Nice and cannabilistic...not super gory, but definitely pushed the Network limits. I liked it, not as much as Ronnie Yu's episode, but a close 2nd.  Out of 5 episodes Gordon and Yu take the cake!
Next weeks (or possibly the week after, they might not be airing the show this coming Thursday) episode will be about zombies...I'll be watchin'.

yea, i agrree. that cop chick was ugly-hot too. the other 3 episodes were almost good but then just blew it at the end.. tho the end of Eater was pretty lame too

most this show's episodes could really use like a 1:30 minute epilogue too..

Tonight's episode, New Year's Day, was decent.  Steve Niles wrote the story. Melissa actually really seemed to dig it.  It definitely pushed the envelope for network TV.  Again, nothing that would blow us away, but pretty gory for TV.

I'll probably watch it tomorrow, almost finally caught up. My favorite would def have to be Eater so far. Yea that cop chick was pretty hot in a weird way and the shapeshifters teeth kinda made me think of Dagon.
