Here's my top ten favorite made for TV horror movies!
Salem's Lot (originally aired 11/17/79, 11/18/79)
My pick for the all time greatest. Scared the crap out of me as a wee Brain Hammer.
Devil Dog: The Hound of Hell (10/31/78)
A personal favorite. I am in love with Kim Richards. Last year she wanted a dollhouse, this year she wants her ears pierced.
Helter Skelter (4/1/76, 4/2/76)
A close runner up for greatest of all time. I think Steve Railsback is amazing in this.
Dark Night of the Scarecrow (10/24/81)
Excellent movie. Arguably the most creepy made for tv horror flick ever made.
Gargoyles (11/21/72)
Very cool monster movie with early Stan Winston effects.
Trilogy of Terror (3/4/75)
Another all time classic. Karen Black battling that warrior doll is hilarious.
The Moon of the Wolf (9/26/72)
Very good bayou werewolf flick with a cool looking werewolf and Geofrey Lewis. This is really easy to find on dvd and well worth a look.
Satan's School For Girls (9/19/73)
The name alone makes this a classic. But it's also a cool flick with Kate Jackson trying to find the satanic secret behind her sister's suicide.
Killdozer (2/2/74)
Arguably the greatest film ever made about a killer bulldozer. Also the name of a cool band.
This House Possessed (2/6/81)
Finally, I end my top ten with this awesome haunted house flick. This has more quality shocks than The Amityville Horror. I wish I could get this on dvd. The bricks breathe! They breathe!

Trilogy of Terror 2 too! Lysette Anthony.. Sometimes They come Back... wasn't that gay in the good way? been so long i forget that early 80s weekend special with Christian Slater & the bitch from that Kid co. flick in a haunted house was good too it's hard not to consider sci-fi channel shit, even tho only like 1/10 are any "good".. they're still the only ones trying nowadays

Yeah. I was beyond fucking surprised. It gave me hope for the back to back Return of the Living Dead 4 and 5... too bad they're the biggest let down of my entire life.

Yeah. Just watched Trilogy of Terror the other day for the first time in years. Does anyone remember the remake that came out in the nineties? I think all the stories were different except for the death doll story.

Brian,
Saw your top ten list and was THRILLED you put This House Possessed on it. It's probably my favorite TV Movie too. I mean, there are classics like Trilogy and Dark Night of the Scarecrow and Gargoyles and Don't Go to Sleep and... and... well, you get the picture! Anyway, this haunted house movie is great. It relies on traditional suspense mechanics and kind of feels a little like it an Italian film from the 70s...
I have more to say, but will stop here!
