Ehhh I think I am going to skip season two for now, I rather catch up on Desperate Housewives. I cannot see what everyone is raving about with Dexter.
Desperate Housewives? No wonder. That's messed up... You just go ahead and stick with that show then while the rest of us enjoy our little gem in Dexter. |

I haven't read the books. I'd like to though. And don't even say "the books are better" cuz that's like saying a million dollars is better than sex. I'm actually surprised that cliche still exists after decades of bookworms complaining...  |

My number one pet peeve is people who say the "book is better." That is just some idiot's way of trying to prove to you they are smart because they can read, or like when you like a band and someone says "I only like their earlier stuff." However I think if I had seen the show first I would of liked it a little more. I know that falls into the "book is better" argument, but its just true.
Most people who complain about the movie not following the book, complain about things you couldn't possibly do, or made sense to change. I am a person who normally understands this and can see why they did certain things differently in some movies, but they really dropped the ball on Dexter. It just seems to suffer from bad writing. Like that Sgt. Doakes subplot about the drug dealer was so awful and pointless, it gave me sunshine.
The show is written by some guy who wrote some Buffy episodes, I wanted to claim he wrote the sucky ones but that would be blasphemy. It also has some writers/producers from The Sopranos, Charmed, Smallville, The Shield and the OC, I would think they could do better.

I've watched the first 10 episodes of season one and love the show. Best thing I've gotten into in a long time. I won't be able to afford season 2 anytime soon, and I hear CBS is planning to show the first two seasons edited for network standards. I hope that isn't how I have to catch it.
