Tales from the Crypt was still running, we all know that show.
the whole hack & slash, monster of the week era now over, enter the brief, yet stupid vampire trend..
Dark Shadows. Some genius at
NBC thought
Ben Cross would make a good
Barnabas Collins.. they were wrong. i'll admit i still watched this primetime remake though.. all of it's like.. 4 episodes before it got canceled.
Kindred: The Embraced.
Aaron Spelling's vampire soap opera loosly based on the
Vampire rpg that was popular at the time. this show didn't make a full season either.. i think it
might have had aired 5 episodes before cancelation. 5 too many if you ask me.
Forever Knight ran from 1992-96, i never heard of the show til several years ago when
Sci-fi used to run it after
Dark Shadows (the 60s-70s series) every morning. the main charactor, Nick Knight plays a vampire detective trying to seek redemption by helping people and solving crimes generally involving the supernatural. sure that sounds lame but the show was pretty good and it's various cheezy aspects were fun. like when the blind lady's seeing eye dog got turned into a vampire.. and it loved it's master so much that it made her a vampire too, which cured her blindness as well. the episode ended with her petting the dog and seductively saying "good boy".
Nigel Bennet (who played Prince on Lexx) totally stole the show as his mentor LaCroix
She-wolf of London, later renamed to
Love and Curses. all i remember about this show was that it was the only thing i'd watch on tv during 1992-1993.
Kate Hodge played the werewolf and would lock herself in a cage each full moon because she was "good". it ran on
UPN for only one season i think
X-files,
Buffy and any other shows that spilled into 2000 i'm not touching.
