It was great, Melissa and I saw it tonight! Actually better than the story in some ways, but both are very good. Highly recommend seeing it. So do it!

Yeah...she gave it a good review, but what is with all the Stephen King bashing throughout the review? Not a good writer, has she even ever read any of his novels? Stephen King effectively writes....horror, especially within his earlier material. His character development, settings, and sense of fear are perfect examples of WHY "The Mist" is so good, because the director pretty much stuck to the content. And how can she say that The Shining was one of the best King adaptations, when the book is waaaay better than the film. Don't get me wrong... I dig Kubrick's flick, but the book doesn't just revolve around Jack like the movie does. There is some scary shit going on in that book. Its a good movie, but not a good King adaptation. Misery, now there is a good example. It doesn't loose what King was trying to convey in the novel, like The Shining did. Hhhhhmmmm what else, Pet Semetary (great book, mediocre movie), Salem's Lot (the fear and impending dread in this novel will never be equalled in any movie version) ......the list goes on. Whateva, she can have her opinion, even if it makes her a Miss Poopie Pants!

Sweet I got a gender reassignment! I'm Tyler, the GUY who wrote the Mist review. I bashed on King because he is a horrible writer who can't effectively close out a story. By not sticking to King’s constant use of shitty cop out endings the Mist was improved dramatically.
For great examples of his book ruining endings try and finish either The Stand or It without punching a whole through the wall. A giant Spider? A GIANT FUCKING SPIDER?
Also Kubrick made the best King movie by once again NOT sticking to the book, did you see the version that did? Did you like it more than the Kubrick version, of course not. Nobody like Steven Webber, not even his mom calls him on his birthday.
I've probably read around fifteen or so of King's books in my life time. The majority of them I read in high school, ya know, the appropriate age to read his mindless drivel. With the exception of the stuff he put out in the late 70's/early 80's his writing is on par with Grisham, Grafton and the rest of the names you see splashed across the cover of paperbacks on sale at the supermarket. I learned a long time ago that reading material sold in the same establishment as kitty litter rarely has any depth to it and is generally best used to shit upon.

Yeah I have been getting a lot of feedback about "her" King bashing in that review, but I love that she compared his books to Goosebumps, makes me giggle.
I do love some King books, and the ones I love I really love, but I have found I enjoy many more other horror writers in general. I also wish they would can him from ET Weekly because his column in that S-U-C-K-S! He is too old and lame for it. Horror writer ---> YES - Pop Culture Columnist ---> NO!

Oh and hey Larry would you vote for Mist to be on our top ten list, because no one has seen it of course it is not making the cut right now. Hey Larry your vote counts! Hey Larry you count!

MOST Definitely in the Top 10, oh yeah....definitely. Hhhhhmmmm, maybe #1? And back to what was said about Stephen King, his early work rocks. He isn't my favorite horror author, but he played a big part in developing my young mind into what it is today. Overall, I feel that Richard Laymon is better. Laymon Kills!
