LUNCH MEAT

I used to have this on vhs. The thing played like shit and I wasn't able to make a dvd-r copy. I was just thinking about this movie. I have memories of seeing the vhs on the shelf at my local video store when I was a wee Brain Hammer.

I thought this 1987 Texas Chainsaw Massacre ripoff would be right up the Splatter alley. Do you own this?

No..unfortunately I dont. Because of my limited financial resources, I started collecting VHS late in the game when video stores started reducing there prices and going out of business. By then, most of the Big Box videos were long gone. I have a few Like Zombie and Silent Night.. but thats it. My collection is kinda large and contains some rare stuff, there is plenty of stuff I aint got. Lunch Meat, Spine, Blood Cult, Satan's Blade, Video Violence, all the super rare stuff is in the big box format like J from kandjhorror has. most of my stuff is slipcases and I do have alot of Clamshells espescially the HBO and Thorm EMI clamshells and the special edition Anchor Bay clamshells. Another problem is that the TCM ripoff genre has seem to have eluded me. Deranged, Three on a Meathook, Blood Farmers, Motel Hell. Eaten Alive,  I have a couple on DVD but no VHS. Most of the rare stuff I have is the Bava Argento Fulci videos. I went out of my way and spent more to get those because I wanted them so much. I picked up Black Sunday and Black Sabbath at the Hollywood Hellhouse on a trip to L.A and have never seen them for sale up here Most of my collection could have been found in Blockbuster back when they had vhs. I have a decent slasher collection, even some of the more rare stuff but all of them are slipcases, Lunchmeat had to be an early to mid 80s release and was rarely if ever re-released. I have been trying to get a damn job for a while now and was planning to buy more rare stuff on Ebay after I save up some cash.

John McCarty!!! This is why UI love splatterdave the mostest!!! Dude, I have both Splatter MOvie Guides on ym bookshelf. I bought em both for X-mas actually, back around 96, 97. Thats whene I started really collecting h0orror flicks and gettign obsedded with it. I would read those bookss over and over and I would check off thr filcks I had seen. I asol had a Midnight Video catalog and I wound spend fucking houires loking at it and highlighting movies I wanted to buy. I still rip off the Slplatter Guides all the imte, that's my secret. I didn'y thnik anyone else had those books. That's rad.

I got obsessed wiht colelction flicks around 1996. Started with F13 flicks, then qll the horror I could get, I had a girlfreind that workes ata a video stroe and she hooked me up. At one poin t I hadd 100s of vhs. I used yto buy shit from Midnight Video, that guy Bill Knight. Gots lots of uncut slasher glicks, shit like The Burning, Nightmare, Pieces, the vhs were $22 plus shipping and I thought i t was the deal! Sometimes I forget I dig this shit, thenas I see a topic like this and your pics Iand I go right the fuck on. HORROR FOR FUCKING LIFE!! People like us live and breathe this shit. I lvoe all of you horrorryearbook peeps to death and I'm not just saying that because I'm all fuked up!  Wink  Kiss  Embarrassed

When I move to New Orleans I hope there are some good second hand shops and mom and pop video stores. If I find anything good I will let you know.
