I almost went and saw it the other night, but got too tired. We'll see about this weekend. I'm pretty meh on it though. I was getting pumped, and the FUCKING HORSE?! WHAT THE FUCK?! No but in all seriousness, I'll probably dig it. I'm easy like Sonny.

What bothers me the most about H2 is the Loomis character. A full 180 this character has turned and his only purpose in the sequel is to be the barer of bad news for Laurie. We all see Loomis as the Nemesis of Michael but I can see why he wasn't in the sequel of a remake. Zombie had to make Halloween his own but why make two very opposite of the spectrum Loomis characters? I thought the character was gratuitously wasted and that, my friends, is a double entendre.

Yeah, Loomis should've been WAY cooler. The sheriff dude kind of took Loomis' spot. Regardless, I ended up liking this okay. I was hoping to enjoy it as much as the first one Zombie did, but too many things bothered me. I can kind of understand Laurie going a little nuts, but I think her grungy punk look was a bit too overboard. In fact.. everything in this movie was a little too over the top. I have a feeling that was Zombie's intentions, so I can't really bash on it too much. All the bad promotional pictures and shit seemed to work with the movie though, which was fairly relieving. I don't know. Forgettable is the best way to describe it for me. That might be too harsh... check it out with an open mind. It's an okay enough horror flick, with plenty of gore and violence. In fact.. the gritty brutality of everything was what really held my attention.
Spoilers:
So they totally leave it open for like.. Laurie to be the new killer or whatever. Which is cool I guess, but you know some fresh out of film school student schmuck is going to just try to imitate Rob Zombie, which.. is terrible. I like Zombie, but honestly.. the only people that would want to copy him probably grew up in a trailer park. I need to go to bed, and from what I just reread it looks like I didn't care for this, but it seriously wasn't as terrible as some people are making it out to be. Good theater flick, lots of cheap scares. Your girlfriends will scream and cower against you, and no man can turn down the body warmth of a fine caramel tanned honey.

Sounds exactly how I expected it to.
Rob Zombie is an unbreakable mold. His movies are the same shit different day sort of thing.
But they are great Your idea of great and my idea of great are entirely different things. Mine would actually mean it was something awesome. By your definition great = less than mediocre. Ouch I was just giving you hell. Sorry.

The only part I liked was Loomis!
I just don't know about this. Like I said all year, I'm not a Rob Zombie fan and you have to be a fan of him to enjoy his Halloween films. He offers nothing to people outside of Zombie fandom, which is fine, but he should be making stuff like Devil's Rejects or direct to DVD horror flicks for his fans. Not big theatrical releases and not remakes of films like Halloween. If Zombie wanted to make a hulking white trash Myers, he should have just made a different movie, and called it something else. Like his Texas Chainsaw remake aka Devil's Rejects. This was like watching a really expensive fan film. Rob Zombie makes films for people who are stuck in a decade. If you're stuck in the 70s and 80s and like rock music then Zombie is your man
I'm glad all the stupid stuff I thought was going to be in the movie wasn't. Captain Spalding (or whatever the new Captain Spalding is called, Coffins?), Weird Al getting killed by Michael Myers, and so on... The ghost horse was WORST than I thought, the Tim Burton dream shit, and the 4 minute music video in the middle really killed the movie for me.
Basically if you have seen one Rob Zombie music video you have seen all his movies. I tried very hard to like this. I really did, but every time I settled down and started enjoying it Zombie killed it with some random fuckery. Maybe in 10 years from now I will re-watch it and think differently.

Well...there ya go. That pretty much sums up Zombie's movies. And it really is true...he proved that to me with House of 1000 Corpses, which I went to see at the theater expecting to be blown away. Not so much.

I'm sad that such a pretty/gay horse ruined an entire film for me. Oh well. What's Zombie makeing next? Is he ACTUALLY doing The Blob? Fucking.. what happened to him not wanting to do remakes? ?

Stop whining about it you TURD!!! You always get wishy washy with the opinions. Just stick with your gut. Rob Zombie is the fucking man and his mom's ghost horse was the shit. Of course that is coming from a tattooed white trash piece of garbage Hot Topic shopper who lives in a trailer park and is stuck in the 70's & 80's and worships that no talent hack Rob Zombie, so my opinion should be taken VERY lightly!

Do you really live in a trailer park and please say yes! However that is the reason I let you write for my website. I rather have you represent HYB than a guy in mascara (Spooky Dan) or an overweight pussy who wants everybody to like him (Uncle Creepy). So we happily endorse your Halloween 2 review as the official HYB review.

I'm not generally wishy washy. I just wanted to like this. It wasn't very good though.
