Well it's not the first time we pissed someone off but we sure must of hit a nerver with this movie since they really reacted, and since the last time I checked still carrying on about Molly's article on DC's MB. The best part is that we finally got them to stop the 5 page PR responses and just attack us on a personal level, insulting the website for various things we already knew. Our MySpace Blogs on the matter was one of our most popular Blogs ever and we even got an E-mail in support which I will post below.
The best thing is we didn't even have to pull out the big guns, Tommyfuckinghorror seems to be gone forever, Royce was deleted from MySpace and I didn't even have to ask the Horror Drunx to get involved! Thank You to Hooker & Johnny for backing me up on DC also!
Here is the E-mail we got:
Hey guys. I want to say kudos on that story. I've been saying it for months: you just don't publicize the shit out of a film before you get a single shot in the can. You don't do it.
It's particularly offensive to me because I *AM* a regional, indie horror filmmaker with a movie that came together on a shoestring budget and usually no more than two or three crew people. We were in post for two years, during which time my CG animator and I produced over 100 FX shots (over 250 counting a lot of compositing and clean up work.) Because I had very little crew to speak of, I was the writer, director, DP, editor, lead compositor, sound designer/mixer, head janitor and occasionally lead punching bag.
Anyway, I'm one of the filmmakers out there who just *DID* what these guys keep talking about, and as I'm sure many of my comrades in arms would agree
(Mel House, Marcus Koch, Ted Geohagen), it's frustrating to see these guys get so much attention when they haven't even begun to shoot their film.
