Allright, I know ZombieCrew won't love me anymore, but after mulling over this for the last couple of days, I've decided to go ahead and let Brain Damage put out The Aborted and Bloodgod, but let me tell you why.
If I self distribute, I'll have to send out copies to websites, ground the pavement to get people to check out my stuff, shove their faces in it, scream and shout about my movies, ..
..and even if I do go with Brain Damage, I'll have to do that anyway, only they'll get it out to places I never could, like Best Buy and Target, which means it'll just be easier to get.
Well does anyone here buy, rent or watch their films?
Well someone somewhere must be buying thier stuff because they're one of the biggest movie distributors out there, they've been around forever and they're still going strong.
But they are frowned upon by a lot of folks, which is something I'm going to have to deal with you know? It's up to me, regardless of who puts the movie out, to let people know about my movies. Whether it's Brain Damage or Unearthed or Asylum, there's always a stigmata that comes with indie-movies, so the hell with it, why not get out to the most folks while still having to promote the films at a ground level?
I am however going to release "Bleed" myself, just to get a feel for the self distribuion route. Brainhammer should be reviewing that one soon.
BloodGot and The Aborted are going to be out August of next year, which gives me plenty of time to get the word out...
