Some new information from Shock has rumored that Rob Zombie will return to helm:
It's been widely reported at this point that Inside helmers Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo have parted ways with Dimension Films and Trancas International's proposed Halloween 2, leaving the door open to anyone. An insider phoned in this afternoon exclusively informing ShockTillYouDrop.com that Rob Zombie is going to reprise his duties as director and carry on the new Myers legacy that he forged with Tyler Mane behind the mask.
Though I don't mind Zombie helming, I rather have some new blood work on this and have a new perspective rather than the "shit, fuck, motherfucker" approach. Shock also continued saying that filming is set for March which either means Zombie needs to rush a script or he has been secretly working on one. I'm not sure which scares me more. This means that Tyrannosaurus Rex will have to be on hold for now.

Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo would've been friggin' amazing and I really think they could've done things really different and new.
As for Zombie returning. I loved the LOOK of the original movie. He's a damn good director...he's just a shitty writer.

Yeah, the Inside guys was an interesting rumor.
It wasn't a rumor. I read an interview with them in Rue Morgue, and they were going to be directing it. Sucks that they aren't now. |

I haven't watched the remake yet either. I'm trying to force myself to, but can't find enough interest. There are plenty of good movies out there I want to watch. The Halloween remake is in the background.

The remake isn't terrible. I don't know where people get off screaming to the top of their lungs calling it trash. Yes, it didn't need to be made because Carpenter's is a classic but its a better slasher movie than what came out that year most likely. What I'm trying to say is that IT IS Halloween but mix it with The Devil's Rejects and you have Rob Zombie's re-imagining.

Though I would like say cool...I don't think she helped her argument much by saying "I'm somewhat close with Rob." That kinda says you want to be friends with Rob and he doesn't want to be friends with you so you just think you're friends with him.
