I think they should follow this one with Scream 4. That way when this one doesn't make any money they can fall back on the Scream franchise.

Saw the trailer. Nope, doesn't work for me. They did it BLAIR WITCH style, and the BLAIR WITCH PROJECT is the only movie I can watch like that.

The trailer gave me a little hope for this one. It kind of reminded me of Mission to Mars, but different enough to hold my interest. The fact that they went with a two person main cast is good. Gives it that in your face feel and if they play the clostrophobic angle right, this one might not be that bad. I'll definitely wait until it hits DVD though.

I'm usually a big fan of the "found footage" type movie & I really liked this one too. Some slow parts with the build up but the story & setting on the Moon was great. Definitely had some tense moments and a couple good jump scares. Anyway, go see it if you have any interest.

Okay so I ended up going to see this the other night with my best friend because she's pregnant and all she does is go to the movies (literally has a wallet full of ticket stubs from this summer) and this was the only one playing she hadn't seen.
Anyway, I actually found myself enjoying it. The acting was fantastic, the moon setting worked, and the creatures were awesome (although, their footprints don't look anything like the ones on the poster). I thought the story worked well, the pacing was pretty good thoughout. I think the idea behind the "mission" of Apollo 18 was very plausible. The only thing that didn't really work was the found footage angle. It could've been so cool if they hadn't tried to pass it off as real. There were a couple of parts where the shots just weren't possible and the way it ended solidified the fact that there is NO WAY they would've been able to "find" this footage. Great otherwise though. If you can get over it, which I don't really care, the rest of the film is enjoyable. The mental degradation is fantastic, the relationship between the main two astronauts was very real, the mosters are creepy, and I haven't fell for a jump scare like this one has in years. It's a lot of fun, just don't think about it too hard.
