well fast makes a good action horror which no doubt also has lots of explosions
slow is creepy and you gotta be on a like a boat or some shit for it to work.
i have a penis so i love explosions. i went with fast.
tho i prefer a combination of the 2 depending on the rate of decompisition... not many moves mix em tho.

Running zombie scare the fucking piss out of me! I ran track in school, so even as a gimp I thought I had in made against the slow zombies. I could even hit them with my cane, run over them with my chair. But running zombies!? I'll be the first to go! Everyone could just roll my chair out into the street, then make a fast getaway!

Personal preference - shufflers.
The long slow drag of a snapped ankle down a back street gives no idea to the oncoming traveller whats around the corner.
The running zombies whilst probably more vicious etc, don't have the same mystique. The shamblers in their hoardes make my blood run cold. They will get you. It doesn't matter how long it takes for them to reach you.
BECAUSE YOU HAVE NOWHERE LEFT TO GO!
Fast zombies, kill quickly, the agonising wait for the confrontation is bypassed. The confrontation between human and zombie isn't something that should be rushed.

Yeah, fast zombies are a bit more frightening, but I have to go with the slowpokes....I mean their Dead! When you're dead you don't usually move very fast. If we were being overrun by the dead, either way they're gonna get us. Have any of you ordered David Moody's Autumn novels yet? If you dig zombies....you really need to get on this.
