I recently received this e-mail from a gentleman in response to a cast/crew ad I placed for the "Gruesome" music video I start shooting next month:

"Hi
About me.....I am 50 years old. I made my first super8sound film when I was 13
"The Brain Eaters"......Made my last film in 1981.."Nightmare....Creeper 2"
It would be cool to work on another ....I'm a head banger from way back.
I still have the camera and lights...Lighting is most inportant..even with video
Contact me if your are intersted
Fellow horror fan,
Danny
PS........Cool web site."

Sounds like a cool dude, right? I mean, so what if he hasn’t worked on a film since 1981, when I was a junior in high school? I was “intersted” because he said, “Lighting is most important. Even with video” – and he’s RIGHT, dammit! Then he read my script:

"GREG.....
I think your project is too filled with sexual overtones.
I thought you were gonna make a horror flick ?
GOOD BYE"

God bless Christian conservative horror freaks!

I spend everyday just banging my head against a wall with people like these. They think old movies were not sexual and Alfred Hitchcock didn't use gore because they didn't need it or because it was a classier time but, I have a feeling if the Wolfman was made by the same people in the 1980's you might of seen a tit. They just couldn't do it back then and that is the only reason why it's not in those films. Plus it's a rock/horror/music video it just has to be sexual. Even Britney Spears 1st videos when she was sane and a virgin are sexual. He just needs to wake up it's 2007 for god sake.

But  wait, there's more!

Dan responds to my (un-posted) rebuttal of his comment that the "GRUESOME" video project isn't horror:

"Hey Greg
I am sorry.........When you said Scream Queen...From Toronto...I got the wrong impression..What dose surreal mean?....I would still like to be part of your project.
If you need costums..I have some.....Well......Anyways....Good luck in your venture.
Yours truely
Danny,."

Um...apology accepted--?
