Yeah. Their horror movies aren't very good. I mean.. shit like Uzumaki, and some of their zombie movies are okay, but Japan's best genre def. has to be the old Samurai flicks from the 60s and the 70s. Goyokin FTW.
I've tried watching a ton of samurai movies, but I never like them much. I've got both Lady Snowblood's and every Lone Wolf and Cub. It's not like their bad, but there's nothing special about them.. |

the problem with the first Lady Snowblood was they crammed a long comic into the movie, cutting out and watering down all the assassin missions of hers which really were the best parts.. also she never got naked. in the books she always managed to be naked in a fight.. like the begining of Sex & Fury.
gotta love anything with Meiko Kaji in it though.
heh i hated Kill Bill, better off just watching any given 70s samurai flicks.

Do you think any movie with dialog is boring? I didn't think the dialog in Kill Bill was any more boring than dialog in any other movie. I see what you mean though.. like Death Proof, the whole movie is just girls talking about shit. My dad loves em though! He thinks Tarantino is a god. And you can't deny that Pulp Fiction is great. |

yea, Pulp Fiction's a classic. heh i don't mind long dialog if it's meaningful.. unlike Deathproof, which was what really made me hate him. Kill Bills tho, if i had to watch them again, knowing the story i'd just FFW to the good parts. 8 hours kills rewatchablility.
