A Mondo film is a documentary film, sometimes resembling a pseudo-documentary. Cruelty to animals, accidents, tribal initiation rites and surgeries are a common feature of a typical mondo. Much of the action is also staged, even though the film makers may claim their goal to document only "the reality". Today, mondo films are generally considered to be camp.

So far the only Mondo films I can say that I cared for were the Mondo Cane series and The Killing of America.

wanna here something funny? they're remaking Hairspray and John Travolta is playing Divine's charactor. Mink Stole's not in it though because/and Waters has nothing to do with this remake.

I like Waters. I think he is very funny. I would say his film that has the most repeat viewing potential though is 'Serial Mom'

If I remember correctly I saw a little bit of Mondo Bizarro on Reel Wild Cinema (probably like 15 years ago) and there was this scene of a cake made in the shape of a full human body and they were cutting it apart and eating it! Really weird cause the cake looked sorta realistic, freaked me out.

The only Mondo movie I've seen that I would say I really liked was Mondo Magic. It maintains the fine balance between being shocking but still being a good time. Traces of Death is probably the best of all the real death type ones that I've seen but I wouldn't call it a good time kinda viewing experience.

Mondo New York's good too. Lydia Lunch does the intro. it's mostly like.. LES shit, but they threw in cock fights and shit to make it fit the name.
