Pink film is a style of Japanese softcore pornographic films. The term pinku eiga was coined. All these films use female nudity and scenes of simulated sexual activity, without ever actually showing pubic-hair or genitals. This is a result of strict Japanese censorship rules. Subgenres produced include the Roman Porno (Romantic Pornography) pink films with well known directors, and an ultra-violent rape-themed subgenre called Violent Pink.

i hate this genre, it's just live action hentai. i hate them new fangled japanese horror films too. the only good japanese genres IMO are kung-fu, samurai, ninja, giant robots, godzilla, anime.. and old John Wu stuff like The Killer.

Anyway, not a huge fan of 'Pinku films (lovely naked Japanese ladies aside)  as they tend to br extremely pretentious.

The Uk 'Sacrament' label (run by 'Redemption') has recently released a load of them.

actually, having rewatched Angel Guts: Red Classroom (sober), it just sucked and was boring. i must've been fuckin hammered and making up my own storylines to have liked this the first time around (same reason i loved Captivity btw). Co-Ed doesn't look too bad with it's bikers vs school girls.. but if it means getting drunk and letting my imaginatation translate it from crap into greatness.. i'll pass. staring at the floor is alot more fun.

There are many great asian horror movies. Just don't watch stupid ghost movies and shit like Grudge and the Ring.

Yeah.  Their horror movies aren't very good.  I mean.. shit like Uzumaki, and some of their zombie movies are okay, but Japan's best genre def. has to be the old Samurai flicks from the 60s and the 70s.  Goyokin FTW.
