Trainspotting was realistic enough.. except when he thought he dove through the toilet and was in the ocean, that made no sense, that's like acid or dust. junkies can pull off alot of elaborate shit.. if they aren't sick. they're like evil crime-robots.

i hated Requim for a Dream with a passion. films with fictitious drugs, that are a compostion of several.. are pretty hack to me. i can't stand it either when they get artsy and try to glamourise junkies with a counter-glamorous message. which is why i generally hate drug culture movies. people always trick me into watching them though. Spun and Fear & Loathing.. are the only ones i've ever liked.

WHAT?

That fucking movie made being a junkie look like living in a fuckin' Iggy Pop video!

The movie was SHIT and I hope all fagot ass kids that thought that movie was cool, rolled a vein while shooting drain cleaner.

The ONLY realistic part was when the guy went down the shittier, and he should have fuckin' stayed there too. The only shit they pull off is over the people who are dumb enough to keep caring for them. Stealing shit from friends and family, pawning your own bands, and the opening fuckin' act's, band equipment, and digging old recites out of the trash to return stuff you shop lifted for money DOESN'T TAKE MUCH BRAINS, just a great lack there of...

eh.. some are better than that. most junkies you'd never suspect, like suits, soccor mom's.. and Amish girls. low profile petty crime, is lame. i never got people ripping off their family and friends either. if you're a potential scumbag, i guess drugs just bring it to the surface.. once there you may as well just die and get it over with.

i'd pretty much forgotten or blocked the gay rock video-ishness of Trainspotting til you mentioned it. still, i neither like nor dislike it.. probably why i forgot it.

There is a difference between being a junkie or a drug addict. Drug addicts have a drug problem, junkies are a problem on drugs...

I agree with you on Spun and Fear and loathing, those films were grade A choice.

oh yea now i remember the thing i liked (and only thing i can remember clearly) about this film.. the scene with the guy going to a job interview coked up. been there done that. it usually seems like a good idea at the time.. needless to say, i've never gotten a job or an apartment while high or drunk.
