THE HOWLING is set to be remade by independent producers Joel Kastelberg and Etchie Stroh under the title The Howling: Reborn, reports Variety. The film will be directed by Joe Nimziki, a former marketing executive for New Line, MGM, and Sony making his debut behind the camera. Steve Lane and Bob Pringle, who served as executive producers on the original, will also executive produce. It’s set to shoot in February 2010 for an October release.

Well I'm always down for werewolves, even if it is a remake, I doubt it'll be anything like the original. I just hope they don't CGI the wolves all up.
Incidentally, the Howlings has my favorite werewolves EVER. They still haven't been beat so far as I'm concerned.

I think I saw that yeah...but who knows...it's one of those wierd franchises that ended up having a dozen sequels. Some of them were interesting, Part III was nuts, they had one with a vampire vs. werewolf scenario...they all get jumbled up in my head though

The first Howling owned. The second one sucked, the third one was rad because it was so weird. The fourth one was the one in the castle right? Or was that the fifth one? Was the fourth Howling the one with the disgusting werewolf orgy? The sixth one had the vampire and that one was pretty tight. The seventh one sucked.
The series pretty much blows dogs for quarters, minus the original of course. I could give a shit less if they tried remaking it.

The first one is ok. The second one is fun in a retarded sort of way. I don't think I've ever seen any of the others.

The 2nd is great. It has Chris Lee and Dee Wallace's titties all over the place. Hell the ending is basically just them flashing over and over again. After that they are pretty meh. I still need to watch part 7.

Dude, you got Dee Wallace's titties confused with Sybil Danning's titties! Get your titties straight man!!!

Yeah part 1 is one of the best werewolf movies ever. Part 2 I haven't seen since I was a kid but I liked it a lot. Part 3 is amazingly weird and directed by the guy who made the stellar "Return of Captain Invincible". Part 4....can't remember, supposed to be based on the original novel though or something. Part 5 is the were wolf vs. vampire in the circus thing. Pretty cool from what I remember. Part 6 has a bunch of line dancing.
This remake, if done right, could be decent. It's not a big studio movie so they don't have to play it safe with the Eddie Quist character. I'll wait and see with this one.

I about 99% positive that I beat off to The Howling novel when I was in high school.
