yea i hear that.....i'm usually a tight ass with my money but when i have multiple jobs i tend to overspend on sensless junk
i just discovered bidding on ebay and mindlessly bid on a lot of 20+ vintage heavy metal magazines...not expecting to win....but to my surprise!
 i ended up spending close to $40 with all the shipping and handling included.....not that im mad cuz heavy metal is the shit....but i'm trying to save money....so i guess i fucked up

you can also get the movies seperately....part 1 is like 97 cents (vhs) on half, and the dvd's are like 3 or 4 bucks
you can always buy them seperately and rig your own "box set"

I use Verbatim DVD-R's which you can get a 100 pack for 25$ Then just burn away

I started downloading dvds about a year and a half ago and now have 640
Link in my sig has got them all cataloged.

Honestly, I don't see why everyone doesn't download

Not cases. I do straight rips of dvds, meaning Menu's Extras and everything else on the original disc. They're EXACT copies. Here's an example to a dvd rip that most people download : http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/3779742/Schramm
As you can see it's 700mb, just because it's a rip without anything and shitty quality

And here's a dvdr that I download

notice it's 7.16gb's because it's exactly the same as the original dvd

Verbatim discs are the best.
I use Verbatim DVD-R for single layer discs, and Verbatim+RDL for dual layer burns

If everyone ripped dvds, then dvd companies would be outsourced by ripping and then you would have no way to rip anymore dvds from the internet.

If you really love movies, you should support the industry and, no, you don't have to pay $20 a dvd.  You can go to pawn shops and get dvds for $4 with case and all. 

I don't rip because I support and I like the case/cover/insert/dvd artwork.  I rather have legit dvds.  Also, if I need money, I can sell them on eBay and legit dvds would make a lot more money than dvd-r.  I have 1300+ dvds and they're all legit.

The main reason I download is because I'm 17 and don't have the money to buy most the movies I want... once I'm a little older I'll buy more, but I think I'll always be downloading.
