Official Synopsis:

S. Darko follows Donnie Darko’s younger sister, Samantha (Daveigh Chase), who, in the wake of his death, has found herself at age 17 with a broken family, mired in feelings of insignificance. She and her best friend Corey (Evigan) set off on a road trip to Hollywood in a bid to ‘make it big’, but their journey is cut short when their car breaks down unexpectedly, leaving them stranded in a small desert town. When a meteorite happens to crash-land nearby, Samantha is plagued by bizarre visions telling of the universe’s end and it appears that their breakdown was part of some grander plan. When she finds out she was actually adopted by the Darkos, and that she is in no way related to Donnie, she must face her own demons and, in doing so, save the world and herself.

Below is the not-even-close-to-horror French trailer for G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra for you horror fans who are over 30-years-old, and have a lot of geek in you.

The Summer movie season isn’t normally very giving to horror fans, although, we do have Sam Raimi’s Drag Me To Hell to look forward to on May 29, 2009. I have also included that trailer below for those of you who have not seen it yet.

I started this section, Not Horror But…, to talk about movies that are not 100% horror but may be of interest to horror fans… and for an easy way to get traffic and pay the bills. This does not fall into the cheap traffic category, but it is the Sci-Fi film starring Sam Rockwell that everybody is talking about titled, Moon. It looks part Cast Away and part Saturn 3, or maybe it’s more more 2001: A Space Odyssey… I have no idea just read the synopsis and watch the trailer below then you decide.

Sam Bell (Sam Rockwell) is nearing the end of his contract with Lunar. He’s been a faithful employee for 3 long years. His home has been Selene, a moon base where he has spent his days alone, mining Helium 3. The precious gas holds the key to reversing the Earth’s energy crisis.

Isolated, determined and steadfast, Sam has followed the rulebook obediently and his time on the moon has been enlightening, but uneventful. The solitude has given him time to reflect on the mistakes of his past and work on his raging temper. He does his job mechanically, and spends most of his available time dreaming of his imminent return to Earth, to his wife, young daughter and an early retirement.

But 2 weeks shy of his departure from Selene, Sam starts seeing things, hearing things and feeling strange. And when a routine extraction goes horribly wrong, he discovers that Lunar have their own plans for replacing him and the new recruit is eerily familiar.

Before he can return to Earth, Sam has to confront himself and the discovery that the life he has created, may not be his own. It’s more than his contract that is set to expire.

Burton’s version of the Lewis Carroll book will utilize the same motion capture technology used in Beowulf to bring the exotic world on Wonderland alive. The cast includes; Mia Wasikowska as Alice, Anne Hathaway as The White Queen, Helena Bonham Carter as The Red Queen, Alan Rickman as the Caterpillar, Michael Sheen as The Cheshire Cat, Crispin Glover as The Knave of Hearts, Christopher Lee , and Matt Lucas as Tweedledee / Tweedledum.

Some rumored additions are; Eleanor Tomlinson as Fiona Chataway, Frances de la Tour asAunt Imogene, Tim Pigott-Smith as Lord Ascot and Jemma Powell as Margaret Kingsley.

“Aaron Eckhart is attached to star in “Battle: Los Angeles,” a sci-fi actioner that Jonathan Liebesman is directing for Columbia. Neal Moritz and his Original Film are producing.

The story, written by Chris Bertolini, revolves around a Marine platoon’s encounter in the battle on the streets of Los Angeles against an alien invasion. Eckhart will play the platoon leader in the film, which has yet to set a start date.”

Crispin Glover is good at playing creepy, and I’m guessing Tim Burton’s 3-D Alice in Wonderland is going to be one creep-filled, acid trip. Glover joins; Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham-Carter as the Red Queen, Newcomer Mia Wasikowska as Alice and Anne Hathaway as the White Queen.

Glover will be playing the Knave of Hearts, which is the Jack in a deck of cards. In the original story the Knave is on trial for stealing the Queen of Hearts’ tarts.

Glover also just completed Freezer Burn: The Invasion of Laxdale starring Tom Green, and was in Beowulf which used the same motion capture technology that Burton plans on using.

You may or may not know this but I love and hate Entertainment Weekly, I can’t go 1 week without reading it, but boy do they piss me off sometimes. Like the time they ruined the ending of first season of Desperate Housewives for me, but I digress, because this has nothing to do with my relationship with ET or horror actually. So why are we publishing this then? Well some horror fans are Star Trek fans and may be interested in these new pictures from ET Weekly.

Synopsis:

Wesley’s (James McAvoy) life is over – his pathetic, old one, anyway… Fortunately, it is all because of a girl.
