S. Darko is the sequel to 2001’s cult hit Donnie Darko that picks up seven years after the first movie. Below is an introduction video where the actresses explain the movie, the teaser trailer and the full-length trailer. S. Darko was directed by Chris Fisher and stars Briana Evigan and Daveigh Chase. It will be available on DVD May 12.
Official Synopsis:
S. Darko follows Donnie Darko’s younger sister, Samantha (Daveigh Chase), who, in the wake of his death, has found herself at age 17 with a broken family, mired in feelings of insignificance. She and her best friend Corey (Evigan) set off on a road trip to Hollywood in a bid to ‘make it big’, but their journey is cut short when their car breaks down unexpectedly, leaving them stranded in a small desert town. When a meteorite happens to crash-land nearby, Samantha is plagued by bizarre visions telling of the universe’s end and it appears that their breakdown was part of some grander plan. When she finds out she was actually adopted by the Darkos, and that she is in no way related to Donnie, she must face her own demons and, in doing so, save the world and herself.

I started this section, Not Horror But…, to talk about movies that are not 100% horror but may be of interest to horror fans… and for an easy way to get traffic and pay the bills. This does not fall into the cheap traffic category, but it is the Sci-Fi film starring Sam Rockwell that everybody is talking about titled, Moon. It looks part Cast Away and part Saturn 3, or maybe it’s more more 2001: A Space Odyssey… I have no idea just read the synopsis and watch the trailer below then you decide.

Do you remember when they remade a few movies from the 80s with all black actors? 1987’s Can’t Buy Me Love with Nick Cannon was one. Well anyway Beyoncé’s new film Obsessed is kind of like a black version of Fatal Attraction. It’s not really a horror movie but it is a thriller, so I thought I would post the trailer (watch after the jump) in our Not Horror Butt… section.

Not really a horror icon but a lot of horror fans liked Bettie Page (the same people who obsess over Evil Dead). Page died in Los Angeles yesterday from pneumonia, she was 85. Her agent wrote this on her website:

Crispin Glover is good at playing creepy, and I’m guessing Tim Burton’s 3-D Alice in Wonderland is going to be one creep-filled, acid trip. Glover joins; Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham-Carter as the Red Queen, Newcomer Mia Wasikowska as Alice and Anne Hathaway as the White Queen.

You may or may not know this but I love and hate Entertainment Weekly, I can’t go 1 week without reading it, but boy do they piss me off sometimes. Like the time they ruined the ending of first season of Desperate Housewives for me, but I digress, because this has nothing to do with my relationship with ET or horror actually. So why are we publishing this then? Well some horror fans are Star Trek fans and may be interested in these new pictures from ET Weekly.
Introducing our new Not Horror But… section here is the cover of this weeks Entertainment Weekly featuring Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine in their Star Trek XI uniforms as Mr. Spock (Sylar makes a creepy looking Spock) and James T. Kirk, and bridge shot of the Enterprise crew.
From left to right: Anton Yelchin as Chekov, Chris Pine as James T. Kirk, Simon Pegg as Lt. Montgomery Scott, Karl Urban as Dr. McCoy, John Cho as Sulu, and Zoe Saldana as Uhura.
