No Way! Warlock and Leprechaun Comics

Lionsgate is teaming up with Bluewater Comics to make Warlock and Leprechaun comics. Pretty cool, but we all know how well this went for Fangoria’s now defunct comic line…Not very well.

Writer Nick Lyons says, “Warlock will appeal to both fans of the franchise and readers who know nothing about the horror series.” Zach Hunchar who will be handling the Leprechaun series says, “Leprechaun is an immensely popular horror franchise and I’m excited about expanding the mythos. It takes two of my favorite things … Ireland and horror. I’m extremely excited to continue to explore the things that scare me and entertain me. I’m very happy Bluewater chose me for this task.”

No Preacher for HBO

The network who brought us Todd Mcfarlane’s very dark, Spawn and the violent Rome, has passed on turning Garth Ennis’ comic book, Preacher into a one-hour series because it is too dark and violent.

Top Cow Productions to Release IMPALER Trade Paperback

Top Cow Productions, Inc. announced it will publish the first, complete story arc of William Harms’ Impaler in a new trade paperback that will debut this October, and then will launch a new series for the property in December.

Sam Raimi and Tom Cruise Team Up for Sleeper

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Tom Cruise may star in Sam Raimi’s next comic book adaptation, Sleeper.

Spike: After the Fall

The Buffyverse is growing! First Joss Whedon gave us (and still is) Buffy: Season 8, then Angel: After the Fall, and now IDW has announced Spike: After the Fall. Yes our favorite blonde haired baddy is getting his own mini-series.
